A Review on basics of Digital Image Processing
International journal of engineering research and technology, 2018
This paper presents basics of digital image processing. Image Processing is very popular topic in the field of research and development. Image processing is a large research area to improve the visibility of an input image and acquire some valuable information from it. In Image processing any form of signal processing for which the input is an digital image; the output of image processing can be either an image or a set of characteristics or parameters related to the image. Most imageprocessing techniques involve treating the image as a twodimensional signal and applying standard signal-processing techniques to it. Image processing were developed in 1960s and in 2000 digital image processing has become the most common form of image processing due to its versatility and low cost. In broader sense, Image processing is divided into two major branches; image enhancement and image restoration. Fourier transform is most popular image transforms. The Fourier Transform is used in a wide range of applications. Image Processing is the act of examining images for the purpose of identifying objects and judging their significance. An image analyst studies the remotely sensed data and attempt to detect, identify, classify, measure and evaluate the significance of physical and cultural objects, their patterns and spatial relationship through logical processes.

Interest in digital image processing methods stems from two principal application areas: improvement of pictorial information for human interpretation; and processing of image data for storage, transmission, and representation for autonomous machine perception. The objectives of this article are to define the meaning and scope of image processing, discuss the various steps and methodologies involved in a typical image processing, and applications of image processing tools and processes in the frontier areas of research.
This tutorial is directed towards students that are not familiar with image processing or C / C++. Part I introduces some basic images processing techniques, it explains how to handle digital images and perform basic operations. Part II covers advanced programming teqchniques related to the programming language C++. The two parts do not depend on each other.
Study of Different Image Processing Concepts Using MATLAB
2017
In the new era of information technology, the use of visual aids in teaching and learning process is inevitable. Image processing is an interesting field that studies about various processing techniques for digital images, which is the backbone of the emerging visual communication. Teaching the image processing has been a challenge since it requires imagination and creativity to some extent for the students to understand the concepts of image processing. MATLAB is a computing platform that is suitable for developing and testing a number of applications. The major advantage of using MATLAB is the graphical user interface (GUI) which can contribute positively to understand the concepts with ease. The pictorial illustrations confer better understanding of the concepts with ease. This article addresses a novel method of teaching the concepts of image processing with MATLAB. It also provides an insight to some of the basic image processing techniques namely image restoration, image denoi...
A STUDTHE IMPORTANCE OF IMAGE PROCESSING AND ITS APLLICATIONS
A systematic study on importance of image processing and its applications to the field of computer vision is carried out in this paper. An image is defined as an array, or a matrix, of square pixels (elements of picture) arranged in rows and columns. Image processing is a procedure of converting an image into digital form and carry out some operation on it, in order to get an improved image and take out several helpful information from it. Mathematically image processing is defined as the processing of a two dimensional picture by a computer i.e., an image is defined as a function of two real variables, like t(x, y) with an amplitude such as brightness of an image at the coordinate point (a, b). The outcome of image processing can be an image or a set of features or characteristics related to the image. Most image processing methods treats an image as a two-dimensional signal and implementing standard signal-processing techniques to it. The goal of this operation can be divided into 3 categories. Firstly image processing in which input is an image and output is also an image; secondly image analysis in which input is an image and output are the dimensions or measurements. Finally image understanding in which input is an image and output is the standard description of an image. Some of the important applications of image processing in the field of science and technology include computer vision, remote sensing, feature extraction, face detection, forecasting, optical character recognition, finger-print detection, optical sorting, argument reality, microscope imaging, lane departure caution system, Non-photorealistic representation, medical image processing, and morphological imaging. Key Words: Image, Digital Image, Compression, Enhancement, OCR, ATR.
Digital Image Processing-A Quick Review
International Journal of Intelligent Computing and Technology (IJICT), 2019
Image is one of the evident sources in image processing applications. Image processing will dramatically change the human computer interaction in future. A large number of image processing applications, tools and techniques helps to extract complex features of an image. While today image processing works beyond multidimensional and see what actually in the image. Several technologies playing on images in real time but image processing is the real core. This paper discusses the overview of an image processing applications, tools and techniques.
