The society"s evolution modified the way how individuals interact with each other and products. The community"s power has lost strength in relation to the power of the individual. One of the results of this change is the imbalance of human communities with the concrete environment. The lack of sense of community in neighborhoods and the removal of individuals from the public space, give rise to crime. The Criminal Ecology argues that proper planning and use of urban spaces have influence in reducing the feeling of insecurity faced by the population and even the incidence of crime. A key aspect in the way that the individual interacts with the environment are the emotional stimuli. Emotional Design can, therefore, be an important tool in developing a product that motivate different behaviors of the community, activating public spaces. Thus, this proposal aims to develop a product that activates parks and squares in the city of Porto Alegre, having the Emotional Design as a tool.
