Els públics del Cometa Halley (1910): cap a un estudi comparat de l’astronomia en la premsa diaria

Abstract

This paper analyses the image of Halley’s Comet (1910) appeared at the Catalan newspaper La Vanguardia. The case study reveals the existence of the important efforts to popularize astronomy in the early twentieth century. Such efforts were related to a broadly accepted link between science popularization and the consolidation of the professional and social prestige of scientists.
