The story of Adem is dealt with in detail in sufi resources especially in relation to human, world and being issues. The leading matter of the matters that are emphasized is the position of man among the creatures in terms of being a caliph. According to the Sufis man being appointed as a caliph on earthis man’s most important qualifier of superiority and distinguishedness from other beings. But the fulfillment of this task is directly related to him reaching the human perfection level (insan-ı kamil). Besides the caliphate, the fact that Adam was given knowledge is among the subjects that the sufis have emphasized. As a matter of fact, he has come to a higher rank than the angels because of the knowledge that was given to him. On the other hand, according to the Sufis, the creation of Adam from the soil is directly related to his humility. On the other hand, Satan is such an arrogant entitybecause he looked down on Adam. After their emphasis on the various aspects of Adam’s story, The Sufis emphasize that man can only rise to the position of the caliphate in the true sense if he can resist against all kinds of deceptions by the devil.
