This project is all about to control the electric power consumptions Street Lights and eliminating manpower. The project is designed to detect vehicle movement on street to switch ON only a block of street lights ahead of it (vehicle), and to switch OFF the trailing lights to save energy. During night all the lights on the street remains ON for the vehicles, but lots of energy is wasted when there is no vehicle movement. For auto power consumption when there is no vehicle on the Street Light this includes controlling a circuit of street lights with NE555P, specific IR Sensors & Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) is a type of sensor which actually does this work and senses the light as our eyes does. As soon as the sunlight comes, visible to our eyes it automatically switches OFF lights .Total process operation in Solar Power.

Movement Aware Smart Street-lights for Efficient Energy Utilisation
Proceedings of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences: A. Physical and Computational Sciences
Now a days, energy is an essential resource as the number of energy resources are sinking day by day. Movement Aware Smart Street light is a simple yet powerful concept, which uses transistor as a switch and replaces the manual system. It instantly switches the lights ON when the sunlight goes below the visible region. As energy is the scarcest source, this requires finding innovative ways to use it efficiently. Big cities consume a large amount of electricity and it is required to save energy by operating the street-lights at the time of need. In this paper, an effective method of street-light operation is presented which detects the sun set and sun rise alongside detection of vehicle movement on roads to utilise the energy only when it is required. Furthermore, a system is proposed which reduces energy consumption by replacing manually operated street-lights as they are not switched OFF even the sunlight appears and also switched ON earlier before sunset. The proposed mehtod has s...

AUTONOMOUS SOLAR POWERED STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM
IAEME PUBLICATION, 2020
This work presents an autonomous street lighting system based on solar energy as primary source, batteries as secondary source, and lighting emitting diodes (LEDs) as lighting source. It presents high efficiency, because all power stages are implemented in DC. It proposes the use of LED-based lighting systems that receive energy from leadacid batteries, charged by the solar panels and a DC/DC converter is used to control the output power of the PV panel and the charging current for the battery. Here the control circuit basically works in two modes: light control and intensity adjustment. Under the light control mode, LED lamps turn OFF during daytime and turn ON at night automatically using a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR). The LDR performs the Dusk-Dawn operation. PWM technique is used to adjust the intensity of lamps by detecting the presence of the pedestrians using a Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR).

Building A Sustainable Future using Advance Street Lighting System
International Journal of Research in Advent Technology, 2019
With the advancement in science and technology, electrical energy has become one in every of the essential suggests that to hold out today's life. Power demand affects the lives of people in many ways. With this surge in the demand of power, it is important, rather essential, to find ways to conserve power to prevent resources from getting exhausted. The present paper focuses on one of the solutions for this problem, i.e. by building sensible street lights which can scale back power wastage because of unessential lighting of street lights in spite of traffic density and at odd hour using microcontroller and light dependent sensor for detecting the movement of the objects. The prototype has been designed that will automatically control the street lights at different intensity levels.
Development of Solar Power Intelligent Street Lights System
2019
AbstractThe lack of natural light during night time in the urban environment has always been a problem. From people not being able to see where they are going, to the greater chance of being attacked or mugged at night which as we all know is a problem that has been in existence since humans started living together. The main advantage of this system exists in the reduction of costs related to energy consumption by the street light by integrating a vehicle/human detection algorithm into the system. The introduction of this vehicle/human detection algorithm further reduces the power consumption costs. In this project, solar PV is used to supply the energy to charge the battery. The battery later powers the operation of the whole system. The 1217V of the solar is buck to a steady 12V for battery charging. A light sensor is connected to the microcontroller that sense the light during day time, when the presence of day light is sensed the microcontroller turns ON the mosfet of the buck c...
Energy efficient smart street light for smart city using sensors and controller
Smart street light is an intelligent control of street lights to optimize the problem of power consumption of the street, late in night. Conventional street lights are being replaced by Light Emitting Diode (LED) street lighting system, which reduces the power consumption. The focus of this project is to design a system of street lights controller to provide a reduction in power consumption. The prototype was designed by using Light Dependent Resistor (LDR), Infrared sensor (IR), battery and LED. The brightness of the lamps is being controlled in this project to reduce the power consumption. The dimming of the lamps depends on the speed of object motion detected such as pedestrians, cyclists and cars. The higher speed of moving object, the greater the level of intensity. For this idea, the innovation of street lights is not quite the same as conventional street lights that are controlled by timer switch or light sensor which automatically turns light on during sunset and off during sunrise. According to the study, motion detection devices may help to save up to 40% of energy per month.

We use two parts in this paper it includes IR sensors and zigbee transceiver. In city side the street lights are always working at night even though no vehicle moving in the road, so lot of electricity are consumed. To reduce much more consumption of electricity we proposed zigbee and sensor technology. IR sensor controls the switching on/off light when it detects any person entered into road.
