Hotel-Related Factors and Employee Performance "The Case of Jordanian Four Star Hotels

The study addresses the challenge of employee performance (EP) at the four-star hotels in Jordan by focusing on how hotel-related factors influencing EP. Multiple regression was used to predict EP and explain the impact of five predictors that are organization culture (OC), organization structure (OS), manager attitude (MA), empowerment (EM), and training culture (TC). A correlation was used to compare the relationship between study variables. The results of multiple regression indicated that EM was the strongest predictor of EP followed by MA, and TC, whereas OS and OC found to not influence the EP. Overall interrelations among the independent variables showed a positive strong relationship and positively related to EP. Based on the study findings, several recommendations are offered. Finally, the implications for management are discussed.

This study aimed to evaluate training programs in five-star hotels in Jordan, and its impact to upgrade the performance of their employees. The researcher took a random sample of (50) employees and managers working in five-star hotels, where the study (questionnaire) adopted the addressed key variables. The study concluded that there were negativities concerning the methods used in the training that are not commensurate with the goal of training, where the objectives of the training programs and not in the interest of the work most of the time.Also, there was a weakness in the selection of specialized trainers in different specializations of management operations, reception, a food and beverage. The study also pointed out that there are significant relationship between variables (techniques and methods used in training programs, the duration of programs, selection of trainers and training plans) and variable raise the level of efficiency of workers in five-star hotels in Jordan. Replacing Foreign Staff with Skilled Jordanian Staff in the Hospitality Industry of Four and Five Star Hotels at Aqaba City, Jordan

This study aims at indicating the right foundations that may be adopted by departments of foreign managers about their employees and the possibility of employment of those grounds in support of the local section managers to manage the partitions in the four and five star hotels in Aqaba. the behavior of both local administration and foreign were positive, the study found that there is efficiency of the administration's foreign and domestic, also is the current study, showed that there is are represented skills in administration for both of local and foreign, the study concluded no statistically significant differences between the behavior of local administration and foreign, regarding efficiency and skills. In light of the results of the study recommended the need to rely on the local administration in the management of departments in hotels, as there was no significant difference between them and the foreign administration, not in behavior or in the competence and skill in. The results of the study recommended the need to search for the reasons for the decline in preference for employees to work with the director of the local section in the hotel. A Multivariate Analysis of the Perception of Frontline Staff towards Training in Hotel Industry

Abstract: The hospitality being an international field, need of training and development practices should be at par with the global standards. Thus, significance of the study of Human Resource Training and Development by new researchers has increased due to rapidly changing technology and work culture in hotel environment due to an increasingly skilled workforce and very competitive global marketing. Human Resource Training is very much essential to upgrade skills of employees in this scenario, for the development of self as well as the organization. The present research paper tends to find out the perception of the frontline staff members of the hotels towards training. For the purpose of this study a well structured questionnaire was developed and distributed to various hotels before the Commonwealth Games (January 2010 to June 2010) in Delhi Region. The findings suggest that employees perceive that training helps in enhancing their knowledge and eventually in their career progression. Keywords: Technology, skilled, frontline, training.
