Economical and Reliable Method of Water Purification

Asian Journal of Water, Environment and Pollution, 2014

In this work, several commonly used methods of water purification are discussed first and then a new method is proposed. This new method is attractive considering its simplicity and world-wide applicability. It involves boiling water under pressure which raises the temperature of this boiling water. The background of this method arises from the pasteurization process but its applicability from economy required under current high energy costs. Several experimental results are also discussed.

Water Purification Using Different Chemical Treatment

2019

Water from surface sources is often contaminated by microbes, whereas groundwater is normally safer, but even groundwater can be contaminated by harmful chemicals from human activities or from the natural environment. The purification process of water may reduce the concentration of particulate matter including suspended particles, parasites, bacteria, algae, viruses, fungi, and a range of dissolved and particulate material derived from the surfaces. Water purification is the process of removing undesirable chemicals, materials, and biological contaminants from contaminated water. Most water is purified for human consumption (drinking water), but water purification may also be designed for a variety of other purposes, such as medical, pharmacology, chemical, and industrial applications. In general, the methods used include physical processes such as filtration and sedimentation, biological processes such as slow sand filters or activated sludge, chemical processes such as flocculati...

A review on several methods of water purification techniques

2016

Water purification is a very important issue in environment. It involves the various techniques and manufacturing processes for water purification using renewable sources. It consist of a several modules which is an effective method to remove bacteria and viruses, removal of inorganic solutes, suspended solids, metal ions, heavy metals , nitrate, natural organic content, protozoan, complex organic compounds, and other pollutants etc. All this method can be made ease, low cost, potable and energy efficient high quality water to solve the needs of pure water. However, in this paper we emphasize on all available physical, chemical and biological methods of water purification which is useful information for researchers and scientist who work in the area of water purification system. IndexTerms—Physical, Biological and Chemical Method of water purification. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________

PURIFICATION OF WATER USING NON-CONVENTIONAL METHOD

Journal of Current Science, 2019

In this paper, a water purifier is designed which works on Non-Conventional Method like solar with the help of PV panels. The process of water purification is eliminating harmful chemicals, biological poisons, suspended solids and gases from polluted water. This project is based on the principle of reverse osmosis. The radiations of solar are collected by PV solar panel. After this the collected energy is furtherstored in a battery. The battery is connected to the purification unit with the help of switch. The purification unit consists of high pressure motor, reverse osmosis system and the water tank. The high pressure creates the necessary pressure required to carry out reverse osmosis. Through this process we obtain the purified water in the water tank.

Utilisation of Water Purification “Tablets ” at

2014

Generally disinfection of water at household level can be achieved using several soluble tablets or chemicals which have been proven to render water to be microbiologically safe. The use of disin-fectants at household levels has been reported to contribute to the reduction of waterborne dis-eases in areas with limited supply of piped water. Water guard is produced and widely used in Tanzania especially in the rural and informal settlements; whilst in Namibia, water marker and Aqua tabs are imported and distributed to similar communities. Sodium Hypochlorite, a chlorine base chemical which is either in powder or tablet form is widely used in the two countries. Through informed consent community volunteers were used for the collection of water from shallow wells, which was subsequently treated and analysed in Tanzania. Volunteers were also asked about their methods of water treatment and storage. In Namibia, information on appropriate use of purifica-tion chemicals at household level ...

Purification of Water at Personal Level By Ibrahim Conteh

Ibrahim Conteh, 2023

Water is essential for the survival of all living organisms. It is often referred to as the Universal Solvent because of its ability to dissolve a wide range of substances, both organic and inorganic, without immediate detection. Water can, for instance, dissolve substantial amounts of common salt (NaCl) while appearing clear, making it seem like pure water. Analyzing water quality is crucial to determine if it meets safety standards for drinking or if treatment is necessary to purify it. Sierra Leone faces a significant public health challenge due to the prevalence of unsafe drinking water, with more than half of the population lacking access to basic sanitation services. Consuming contaminated water can result in various waterborne diseases, including cholera, typhoid, and diarrhoea, which pose severe health risks, particularly to vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. Addressing this issue involves several strategies. First, creating awareness among the public and government institutions about the risks associated with unsafe water consumption is crucial. Public education campaigns can inform people about these risks and the importance of using water purification methods, while government support is essential for funding water infrastructure and sanitation services. Additionally, ensuring affordable and accessible safe drinking water for the general public is vital. Personal water purification methods, like boiling or using water filters, can be recommended, particularly in areas where safe piped water access is limited. Lastly, providing recommendations to the government to enhance drinking water quality across the country is essential. This can involve investments in water treatment facilities, improvements to water distribution systems, and the promotion of rainwater harvesting. These efforts collectively contribute to a safer and healthier water supply for all.

Literature Survey on Raw Water Treatment

International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2019

Literature survey on purification of raw water is the procedure of basic experience of mankind. So, as research scholars, we first go via our ancient techniques to purify the water mentioned in religious books like Veda's and many greater ancient books. Those techniques were once exceedingly correct after going via that techniques, in modern times troubles stand in the front of us, the volume of pathogenic substance is way greater than those historic years. Therefore, we had decided to word on recent purification techniques of raw water and after that we have lookup on numbers of research papers and utterly studied them to pick out the great possible methods with low cost and excessive efficiency. So, after all the research we have completed thorough our journey all the element evaluation of papers and survey. And conclusion gisted from that which is talk about in our paper. I.
