Gender Aspects of Formation of Value Potential of Students' Physical Training

Purpose: study of gender peculiarities of formation of valuable orientations of students in physical education and sport. Material: in research students of 3 - 11 classes of secondary schools (419), with which the survey was conducted, were involved. Results : the absence of students' understanding of the necessity of motor activity to human health. Also development of adolescents values of physical culture and sports. Showing psychosocial characteristics to form a stable interest in the physical self. It was found that 15% of girls wish to play hockey on grass, athletic gymnastics, football and boxing. Conclusions: for the formation of valuable orientations of physical culture among students it is necessary to consider not only the physiological, morphological and psychological aspects, but also gender peculiarities of personality.

In present study we investigated possible gender differences in how 357 secondary-school students valued the importance of masculine and feminine characteristics within sport and physical education and how their ratings of values were related to their participation in gendered sport. The results indicated that boys rated appearance strength, sports competence, endurance strength, and masculinity as significantly more important than did girls. Girls rated appearance good looking face, appearance slender, and femininity as significantly more important than did boys. Further, more boys participated in traditionally masculine sports, whereas girls to a greater extent participated in traditionally feminine sports. A discriminant function analysis separated the masculine sport group from the feminine sport group, which suggests that higher scores on the masculine function were indicative of lower value on appearance slender and flexibility, accompanied by higher value on appearance strength and masculinity. For the feminine sport group, this pattern was the opposite.
Examining the values of students in the physical education and sport departments

In this study, the values of students in the physical education and sport departments were examined according to their gender, age, grade, and departments. The questionnaire method was used in the study. As the data collection tool, the Portrait Values Questionnaire was applied. The study group consisted of a total of 389 students 126 of whom were female, and 263 were male; and selected from 4 different universities according to the Cluster Sampling Method. The Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis H Tests, which are among the common statistical tests, were used in the study. The significance level was selected as α=0.05 in the tests. The effect size of the tests was determined to be generally medium-size. As a conclusion, the ranking of the values of the students studying at Physical Education and Sports Departments were determined as "benevolence, universalism, security, achievement, stimulation, self-direction, hedonism, conformity, power and tradition". While the power, tradition, conformity and security value points of the female students were found to be higher than the male students, the hedonism and stimulation points of the male students were higher than the female students. A difference was determined between the achievement, stimulation and conformity values according to the ages of the students. Although there was no difference between the value points according to the departments of the students, there was a difference between the value points according to their ages.
The Values Associated with the Sport: Analysis and Evaluation of Sportspersonship
There is a general opinion that social and moral values play an essential role in learning sports among children and teenagers. This article identifies some of the values associated with sports. Based on a content analysis of the Code of Sports Ethics of the Council of Europe, the values associated with sportspersonship have been categorized: Commitment, Enjoyment, Respect, Fair Play and Participation. Using this categorization, the article describes the development of an instrument designed to assess sportspersonship in young athletes: the MSQ (Multidimensional Sportspersonship Questionnaire), consisting of 21 typical performance items which show an adequate internal structure. Lastly, in light of developing future training programs to reinforce positive values, an analysis was performed on the relationships between the different categories of values, gender and type of sport.
The development of school and sports task values among adolescent athletes: The role of gender

Successfully integrating elite sports with education requires motivation to commit oneself to both domains. This study examines the development of and gender differences in adolescent athletes' task values for school and sports across the upper secondary school years. A total of 391 adolescents (aged 15-16 at the beginning of the study) were followed four times during sports upper secondary school. The participating student athletes were recruited from six sports upper secondary schools in Finland, which offer equal competitive sport opportunities for both genders. The results showed that school-and sports-task values are strongly related to each other. Males valued school less than females at the beginning of upper secondary school, and this gender difference remained, and also strengthened across years. No gender differences in sports-related task values were found. The findings indicate that females may be more committed to integrating elite sports and education than males due to their higher valuing of school.

Educational values of sport and olympism in the opinion of students and undergraduates
Original Article Knowledge on the subject of values preferred by individuals and groups is cognitively interesting and socially useful. Traditional and universal values seem to lose competition with values preferred in today's commercialised and virtual word. Thus, education according to values, particularly those timeless and universal ones, becomes an important element of the process of education as well as urgent social need both in life and in sport. The aim of this work is to present results of studies carried out by myself and regarding the hierarchy of values and opinions on the subject of educational values of sport and olympism from the point of view of a selected group of secondary school students and undergraduates In the general hierarchy of values , the responders placed family as the most important value, and among the educational values of sport, health was indicated as most important by younger students, cooperation by older students and discipline by undergraduates. However, the values of olympism with the main principle of fair play were also mentioned, though they were placed further in the presented hierarchy of values.
