Book: Computer Science Advances: Research and Applications.. USA: Nova Science Publisher. , 2019

The industry 4.0 experiences mass introduction of digital technologies in production. During an era of digital economy of technology turn into workers, strongly washing away the border between opportunities of work and the capital. A driving factor of all processes is expansion of computer technologies. Approaches to business under the influence of the development of technologies changed, the need for hiring of employees for realization of daily routine tasks which was always the most important part of activity of any company in particular sharply decreased. Algorithms and technologies which do routine work, or its considerable proportion are developed. There is more and deeper penetration into our life of such phenomenon as “larger data.” The organizations collect an unimaginable amount of information practically about all aspects of the activity, these data include detailed data on a huge set of an art and operations. Computers learn to master easily and quickly new skills, especially when they have an access to the large volume of data for tutoring. The digital industry changes sectors of economy and labor market. There is an interaction of technologies and economy. New social policy and infrastructure of the digital economy, financial system, labor market and education is built.

Future of work with the industry 4.0

INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON SOCIAL SCIENCES PROCEEDING BOOK, 2019

Historically, technological improvements that develop the production process have been one of the most determinants for industrial revolutions. Recently, it is suggested that the last point that production technologies have reached points out a new industrial revolution as it means that it is Industry 4.0-the fourth industrial revolution. The usage in the industry of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, quantum computing, synthetic biology and robotics is regarded as the beginning of Industry 4.0. It is expected that Industry 4.0 creates better prospects in the production process while bringing with some changes in social, economic, environmental and political systems. Undoubtedly, among those changes, employment issues and the future of work take part in at the top. With the transition to Industry 4.0, some suggest that automation and robots are more likely to replace many jobs performed by labour and lead to massive job losses, others claim that Industry 4.0 will provide net employment increase by creating new jobs and employment fields. Nevertheless, the effect of Industry 4.0 on employment and the future of work is still keeping ambiguous. In this regard, the paper aims to present a literature review to discuss the possible effect of Industry 4.0 on employment and the future of work. In the result of the literature review, it is concluded that with Industry 4.0, there will be an increase in demand for human resources that hold new qualifications and skillsets, however, it will bring with increases in the gig economy with precarious, the lack of bargaining power and legal protection, in non-standard working forms and in unemployment and underemployment risks.

INDUSTRY 4.0: AN INSIGHT INTO THE SCOPES AND CHALLENGES OF THE 4 TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

GIS SCIENCE JOURNAL, 2021

We live in a world where digitalization and artificial intelligence has taken over most of the domains. The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed pushed us towards adopting a digital transformation within a few months which was otherwise expected to take over by a few years. The transformation was quite visible in many areas such as banking, billing, shopping, medical, education, etc. With the advent of better technologies taking up tasks, the impact of the next Industrial Revolution (IR)-Industry 4.0 is all set to take over almost every field. The Fourth Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0 is a complete transfiguration into the digital world by the application of artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms, and smarter machines. In this paper, a review on the impact of Industry 4.0 on some of the currently dominant areas such as manufacturing/production industry, consumer, economic sectors, finance/banking sectors, agriculture, education, and healthcare are discussed. Also, the challenges and crises that the Industrial Revolution could bring about in these areas are evaluated. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is bound to bring a radical change compared to all other Industrial Revolutions. Digital innovations with blockchain technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning algorithms, 3D Printing, and the Internet of Things are expected to hit the global industry. Apart from this, there would be a substantial reduction in human efforts and labour, but there would definitely be a rise the employment opportunities, like coding of machine learning and AI algorithms, and training the machines. Professionals need to continuously upgrade their knowledge. Another major challenge that Industry 4.0 is expected to face is that technology could be misused, especially since all the data generated is bound to be digitalized. On a brighter note, it is believed that the Fourth IR could bring about a smart future, but it could also be a challenge in the far future. The emergence of Industry 4.0 may not leave the human race unemployed, but humans need to get ready to go along with intelligent and smart machines, which can even predict the future. Hence, we need to make sure that we develop our skills accordingly.
