Social movements and education. Intergenerational relations in an educational experience in Rosario city (Argentina (original) (raw)

2018, 18th IUAES Word Congress - Conference Proceedings. Anais

In this work my purpose is to present some advances in an investigation process, centred in the analysis of educational experiences started up by social movements. Particularly, my intention is to understand the politic and socio-educational processes that unfold in everyday life in a school for youth and adults, created by a political organization in a poor and social unequal context in Rosario city (Santa Fe, Argentina). In this paper mi intention is to share some provisional considerations about the way in which intergenerational relationships are configured in the educational experience. From the perspective I’ve assumed, this entails addressing practices and senses bound to ages and its relations, as they take form in this concrete place of study. The theoretical and methodological approach of this work is relational. This means an especial interest to reach –in words of E. Rockwell (2009)-undocumented social reality. Likewise, everyday life, which is focus of the analysis, is understood as articulated with social an historical processes corresponding to different scales (Achilli, 2005). Empiric information was gathered by ethnographic work, which includes observation of classes and other school activities, as well as interviews with teachers and students of this school.
