Information System Model of Self‐Evaluation Efforts Towards World Class Teachers' Institution of Vocational Education and Training

In the era of Asean Economic Community, Teachers' Institution of Vocational Education and Training (LPTK’s) are supposed to produce highly competent and competitive graduations. Otherwise, the teachers from Asean countries will overrun SMK’s in Indonesia. There is no Indonesian LPTK’s in the category of world‐class universities. LPTK’s have no idea what are the real problems. The data as results of self‐evaluation so far offenly are inaccurate, less comprehensive, obsolote, and not well managed yet. As a result, the development and implementation of programs often misses and not bring improved quality and performance of LPTK’s. Computer‐based self‐evaluation (web based information system) is one attempt to overcome these problems. The rapid development of science and technology resulted in increasing human needs that impact on increasing the level of competition in global workforce. Vocational schools as an educational institutions that were designed to produced graduates who were ready to worked need to maintained the quality of graduates continuously in order to competed in global marketplace. One attempts that must be done is to do a school self-evaluation to determine the condition and performances of schools. The high flurry of vocational school sometimes makes experiencing difficulties in school self-evaluation. it was required a school self-evaluation system that was easily used by vocational schools as a tool to improve the quality of education. Web-based self-evaluation system is one of solution to conduct an evaluation analysis easily and quickly. This article will discuss about the web-based vocational school self-evaluation as a tool to improve the quality of education. Then it also discusses how to designed and implemented web-based school self-evaluation in vocational education especially in Indonesia.

SIP-Eval uses the concept of a decision support system and is developed with a SDLC model by designing using UML. SIP-Eval uses three tests that is assessment testing, usability testing and user accepted testing. Testing do to determine the quality of the item’s product by SIP-Eval and to know the usefulness of the SIP-Eval and to know SIP-Eval can function property. The test results conducted at Vocational High School 7 Jakarta and Vocational High School 26 Jakarta involving 3 Server Administration subject teachers and 27 students of the Computer Network Engineering expertise program show that SIP-Eval has a good ability in assisting users in completing the evaluation of learning outcomes process and can function very well for educators and students in the implementation evaluation of learning outcomes in schools with 73.75% obtained in usability testing and 94.70% in UAT testing. The use of school information systems that still use manual means in terms of learning evaluation makes it difficult in terms of assessment. This article will explain how to design a web-based school evaluation system at a vocational school. DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF AN ONLINE GRADE EVALUATION SYSTEM

Evaluation is a process of assessing grades and assigning subjects in the next level of enrolment. The study aimed to Design and Develop an Online Grade Evaluation System on evaluator's modules, as follows: student registration; program; curriculum; subject; grade; and report generation module. Likewise, determine the evaluator's acceptability level on functionality and usability. The system's study observed developmental design with the concepts behind the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), particularly, Agile methodology. Additionally, the system had employed statistical tools: the frequency; percentage; and weighted mean to determine the evaluator's acceptability level. Generally, the system was perceived functional as designed and usable in the institution. It functions correctly on defined evaluator's modules. In like manner, it is usable particularly, the generation of reports. It provides much speedy process during enrolment. For the use of other HEIs, the system requires customization, to conform to their own process as with the grade evaluation.

Software Quality Evaluation of Developed Learner’s Information System

This study aimed to evaluate LIS used by SDO I Pangasinan for automating records management via LIS. The respondents of the study were the trained and only LIS users from the SDO I of Pangasinan. A descriptive method of research was used in the form of a questionnaire to gather data. Frequency and Percentage were used to analyzed the acquired data and ISO 9126 was used as the criteria for system software evaluation. It found out that LIS Users were generally young in age and service, Teacher I and Teacher II employees yet educated and LIS trained. LIS was found of good quality in terms of functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability based on ISO 9126. 90% of the users expressed that the main problem of the system was internet lags in opening the System.
