Sustainable entrepreneurship: Current trend in developing countries

Entrepreneurship encompasses many types of organizational and individual activities but it takes its most obvious form in an entrepreneur's decision to start a new business. In recent years, researchers from different perspectives have focused on the common direction of finding sustainability for businesses, and since then, businesses have gradually focused more and more attention on startups. Entrepreneurship involves starting one's own business to take the first steps on the path of sustainable entrepreneurship. It can be said that sustainable entrepreneurship is gradually becoming a current trend in developed countries and is gradually spreading to developing countries. This article is the result of a research process that seeks to answer questions such as: what are the driving forces that drive businesses towards sustainability? Why is sustainable entrepreneurship gradually becoming a more obvious trend in developed countries? The article also provides some concepts about the arduous start-up journey of businesses, thereby stating the role and importance of the factors that determine the level of sustainability for businesses. The contribution that a sustainable startup brings to the entrepreneur ultimately sets forth development measures towards sustainability and stability for the business.

Ensuring Environmental Sustainability Through Sustainable Entrepreneurship

Sustainability has become an important issue worldwide because of great concerns about the unintended social, environmental, and economic effects of increasing population and economic growth, as well as consumption of natural resources. One recent concept arising from sustainability issue is sustainable entrepreneurship which integrates both the social and environmental aspects, and linking them with entrepreneurial activities. This chapter therefore suggests that efforts of developing countries at promoting entrepreneurship should go beyond engaging in business enterprises but include encouraging the use of entrepreneurial values and approaches to solve sustainability problems. Hence, this chapter is an effort at developing a framework that can be used to influence sustainable entrepreneurship behaviour of the students in developing countries.

Green entrepreneurship refers to the establishment and operation of businesses that prioritize environmental sustainability while also aiming for financial success. In India, where environmental challenges are significant due to rapid industrialization and population growth, green entrepreneurship has gained attention as a means to address these challenges while fostering economic growth. Green entrepreneurship and sustainable innovative initiatives in Northeastern Indian states are experiencing significant growth. These states are witnessing a surge in eco-friendly businesses and projects aimed at addressing environmental challenges. This trend reflects a strong commitment to both economic development and ecological preservation in the region. The study emphasized the importance of understanding these drivers to encourage and support green entrepreneurial initiatives. The research provides insightful information for decision-makers, development organizations, and business owners who want to support environmentally conscious companies that promote both economic development and environmental protection in this ecologically important region. In the end, this study promotes a strategy for entrepreneurship that is inclusive and sustainable and can serve as a role model for other areas facing comparable difficulties.

Introduction: North East India Comprise of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim are located in the North East Part of India, the region share more than 4,500 kilometers (2,800 mi) of International Border with Tibet, China in the north and Myanmar in the east, Bangladesh in the South, Bhutan in the North West. North East comprised of 262,230 square kilometers (101,250 sq mi), almost 8 percent of that of India’s geographical area. The state of the North East Region is officially recognized under the North East Council (NEC) which was constituted in the year 1971. In the year 2002, Sikkim was added as a part of the North East Region. The North East region can be further categorized on the basis of its physiographic, like Eastern Himalaya, the Patkai, and the Brahmaputra and the Barak Valley Plains. The Highest Mountain peak is Kangchenjunga which is about 8,586 m (28,169 ft). The region is rich with mineral resources, Flora and Fauna. The objective of the Study: 1. This paper explores the concept of sustainable entrepreneurship, focusing on how entrepreneurs integrate environmental and corporate social responsibility into their business ventures for developing smart Bangladesh. It examines the motivations behind sustainable entrepreneurship, the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in implementing sustainable practices, and the impact of such practices on business performance and societal well-being and corporate motives regarding sustainable entrepreneurship. Existing published literature and case studies were analyzed for developing the literature review of this study. This study identifies the current state of sustainable entrepreneurship and the extent to which environmental and corporate social responsibility are integrated into business ventures. This study evaluating the impacts and outcomes of sustainable entrepreneurship practices on business performance, environmental sustainability, and corporate social responsibility. This study also providing insights and recommendations for entrepreneurs, policymakers, and other stakeholders to promote and enhance sustainable entrepreneurship for developing smart Bangladesh.

Social Factors of SMEs and its Impact on Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Uttarakhand, India

This paper examines and recognizes various attributes of „Society‟ and „Sustainable Entrepreneurship‟ of small and medium entrepreneurs of manufacturing units in Uttarakhand, India. The rationale was to analyze the relationship among „societal factors‟ with „Sustainable Entrepreneurship‟ and the impact of „societal factors‟ on „Sustainable Entrepreneurship‟ of SMEs in Uttarakhand. Small and Medium manufacturing entrepreneurs were investigated in the selected districts of Uttarakhand. Karl Pearson's coefficient of correlation, principal component analysis, and multiple regressions have been performed as statistical techniques. Results concluded that attributes of Societal factors, i.e., „stakeholders‟, „market‟, „work-life balance‟ and „personnel‟ are positively correlated with „Sustainable entrepreneurship‟ and among all the four attributes Work-life balance has a high influence over sustaining entrepreneurs as compared to Stakeholders, Market and personnel still have favorable and significant impact on sustainable entrepreneurship.
