Control and Management of Residencial Load in Micro-Grid (original) (raw)

Integration of Renewable Energy Resources in Microgrid

Microgrid is a new concept in power generation. The Microgrid concept assumes a cluster of loads and micro sources operating as a single controllable system that provides both power and heat to its local area. Not much is known about Microgrid behavior as a whole system. Some models exist which describe the components of a Microgrid. In this paper, model of Microgrids with steady state and their transient responses to changing inputs are presented. Current models of a fuel cell, microturbines, wind turbine and solar cell have been discussed. Finally a complete model built of Microgrid including the power sources, their power electronics, and a load and mains model in MATLAB/Simulink is presented.

Smart Grid Integration:Renewable Based Micro Hybrid Power System

2019

Electrical energy generation from renewable energy sources are increasing as increase in electricity consumption. Increasing energy cost, transmission loss, risk of radioactive radiation from nuclear power plant, carbon pollution leads global environmental changes are motivating a the conventional ways of generating electricity to RES. Globally, there is a desire to rely more on renewable energy resources for electricity generation. The electricity grid is presently evolving towards an intelligent grid the so-called smart grid. One of the major goals of the future smart grid is to move towards 100% electricity generation from renewable energy resources. This paper presents the overview of recent efforts that aim to integrate renewable energy resources into the smart grid. Renewable energy based micro hybrid power system consist photovoltaic and small wind turbine equipped with Cuk-DC-DC converter, three phase inverter and filter circuit. The impact of connecting Renewable energy sou...

Energy management in microgrid

2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC), 2017

A microgrid is a system, consisting of distributed energy resources (DERs) and controllable loads can be operate in grid-connected mode. The model of Microgrid system having a combination of diesel generation system and wind generation system is developed and simulation studies have been performed using Matlab Simulink. The different electrial parameters are observed in the model of Microgrid such as voltage, current, active power, reactive power. Variation in load demand is observed and demand of load is supplied by wind and diesel generation system.

Renewable energy generation system connected to micro grid and analysis of energy management: a critical review

International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IJPEDS), 2022

Renewable energy generations have been employed throughout the world in order to meet the increasing load demand. It is a pollution free and abundantly accessible. The generation cost has been reduced because of more research advancement. Photovoltaic (PV) can’t generate throughout the day due to weather condition. In order to maintain the continuity of power generation a hybrid renewable generation system (HRGS) concept has been considered in this research work. HRGS is an integration of more than one renewable energy which consists of PV, wind, solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), an auxiliary unit (AU). AU is used as a backup generation which can generate power when all the renewable energy fails to generate. AU may be of diesel generator (DG) or super capacitor. This paper discusses the various parts of HRGS and its comparison. Furthermore, its impact of energy management so as to deliver the energy to the grid in a continuous and reliable manner. Therefore, a detail study of different...
