Every year millions of people throughout the world lose their lives due to occupational accidents and occupational diseases. Studies of occupational accidents have found that the majority are human induced. The fatalistic beliefs of employees regarding occupational accidents affect people's attitudes toward occupational accidents. In this regard, the main purpose of the research is to determine the effect of fatalistic beliefs of employees in fivestar accommodation businesses regarding occupational accidents on burnout. Quantitative data came from a survey of employees in five-star accommodation businesses. This study focuses on kitchens, housekeeping, restaurants, bars and technical service departments, since the risk of occupational accidents in these four departments is higher than in others The results of the research reveal that fatalistic beliefs of employees regarding occupational accidents affect their burnout levels; in other words, a fatalistic attitude regarding occupational accidents is a very powerful predictor of burnout. The research on impact of fatalistic beliefs of employees regarding occupational accidents on burnout lacks empirical evidence. Background: An important factor in the prevention of industrial accidents is the ability of employees to maintain awareness of the work situation, understand the information it holds, and predict how situations will develop. In the present study, we examined the role of fatalistic beliefs and safety climate in predicting occupational situation awareness (SA) among workers. Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 180 employees of one petrochemical industry in Asaluyeh, Iran, in 2014. Subjects were selected using the stratified random sampling method and responded to questionnaires about demographic characteristics, occupational SA (Sneddon et al.), fatalistic beliefs (Williamson et al.), and safety climate (Hayes et al.) . The data were analyzed using correlation techniques and stepwise regression. Results: The results showed internal correlation among fatalistic beliefs, safety climate, and occupational SA. Moreover, the results of stepwise regression analysis revealed that fatalistic beliefs and safety climate significantly predicted, respectively, almost 18% and 20% of variances of occupational SA among workers. Conclusions: According to the findings of the present study, fatalistic beliefs and safety climate can predict occupational SA. Therefore, considering these variables can be important in promoting the awareness of work situation among workers.

Job satisfaction is the result of an employee's perception of their work and the impact of their actions, attitudes and values on personal and professional life. Potential consequences of job discontentment may include high staff turnover, increased absenteeism, alcohol or drug addiction, and accidents at the workplace. The article aims to develop a methodology for assessing employee job satisfaction to substantiate the cause-and-effect relationship between job satisfaction and the number of workplace accidents. The subject of the study is the Algerian Electricity and Gas Company in Hassi Messaoud, which employs more than 82 thousand employees and has more than 11 million electricity consumers and more than 7 million gas consumers. The study is based on a survey of employees of the operation and human resources departments, for which a random sample was formed, and 84.16% of the questionnaires were valid for analysis. The Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was used to assess the internal consistency of the questionnaire, which professional experts reviewed. The SPSS statistical package was used to process the data. The study showed that among all dimensions of job satisfaction, the most important for the surveyed respondents were satisfaction with the leadership style and job stability, while less important were workload, satisfaction with the work environment, and remuneration. Future research is needed to examine the factors that will contribute to the reduction of workplace accidents; further efforts are needed to understand the many aspects that affect other sectors of the economy and different industries.
