Strength of factors responsible for job stress and its' impact on workers' performance

It is general prediction which is proved by research that employee feels stress while working in an organization which is caused by different factors that carries negative impact on workers' productivity. Stress can be described as psychological unsafe feeling which comes into existence when employees' skills, abilities and working conditions not according to job requirements. Researchers have explored different factors those are responsible for stress in organizations and having harmful effect on workers' productivity. In this study seven factors of stress: Qualification mismatch, workload, job and family equilibrium, boss attitude, job autonomy, job security and career ambiguity are observed. Main objective of this study to examine was how strongly these factors are responsible for stress and how strongly stress effect workers' productivity. To achieve objective structured questionnaire used to collect information from 146 employees of different organizations from different sectors located in different cities i.e. Islamabad, Faisalabad, Lahore and Toba Tek Singh. Consequently study revealed that all factors are not equally responsible for stress and stress distorts workers' productivity.

IMPACT OF STRESS ON WORK PERFORMANCE OF EMPLOYEES

In today's age of automation, advanced technology & high competition, man has great dreams of a luxurious living & enjoys at the thought of experiencing it. It is a well-accepted fact that every human being is an individual with his own unique characteristics & ways of responding & behaving. These various ways of responding & behaving can be either positive or negative & these can make one's life a happy or a miserable one. These facts are true for every individual in every sphere of life. In today's fast moving world every individual strives hard to achieve their dreams & the best of luxurious living but faces stress in the process of doing so. The present study will bring to light the stress level, sources of stress & stress management strategies.

Impact Of Stress On Employee Productivity, Performance And Turnover; An Important Managerial Issue

Stress is a universal element and persons from nearly every walk of life have to face stress. Employers today are critically analyzing the stress management issues that contribute to lower job performance of employee originating from dissatisfaction &high turnover ultimately affecting organizational goals and objectives. How stress affects employee performance, managerial responsibility, & consequences high stress are basic aims of the study. The universe of the study is Rawalpindi/Islamabad; the target population is employees (medical officers and house officers) in main health/medical organizations of the universe. Field study was conducted with questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. Data was analyzed using statistical techniques with SPSS Version 16. The factors affecting stress were identified; personal issues, lack of administrator support, lack of acceptance for work done, low span over work environment, unpredictability in work environment &inadequate monetary reward. Analysis showed immense support for negative relationship between stress and job performance; greatly affected career change over (-.323**) and job satisfaction (-.285**), errors in treatment (-.332**), knowledge (-.787**). The results showed that with every unit; increase in personal dilemmas, decrease in financial reward, decrease in influence over work environment, decrease in supervisor support there would be 0.513, 0.079, 0.266, 0.117 decreases in job performance respectively. All these results are statistically significant thus providing rigor and generalizability in research. Higher level of stress existed with no managerial concern for solution consequently lowering the employee performance; staking organizational reputation and loss of skilled employees, these situations call for immediate concern from organization management for employing effective stress management practices to increase employee satisfaction and overall employee performance.

Organizational Stress and Its Impact on Work Performance

Nowadays, in times of economic crisis, most managers or entrepreneurs have to cope with a lot of new job challenges which can easily transform into stressors. Work related stress is of growing concern because it has significant economic implications for the organization. Even if some stress is a normal part of life, excessive stress can influence one's productivity, health and emotions and it has to be taken under control. When people lose confidence, they refuse to take responsibilities, they get quickly irritated, they are unsatisfied of their job, their performance will be very low and the organization will be in danger. Fortunately, most managers and entrepreneurs know which stress main symptoms are and have the necessary knowledge for managing and reducing it before it can affect employees' daily work. Stress can have an impact both on the organizational welfare and on personal behavior of supervisors or employees, that's why, the ability of managing it can make the difference between job's success or failure. The purpose of this paper is to study Romanian managers and entrepreneurs from Bihor County's perception regarding the stress phenomenon, if they feel that they are affected by stress, if they promote some methods to reduce it and if they consider that stress can influence the organizational performance. As a research method we used an online questionnaire, applied to a number of 75 managers and entrepreneurs that represent the target group of the project "Flexibility and performance through management", project financed by the European Social Fund-"Invest in people". Each participant had to answer a number of 35 questions regarding stress and the results will be presented in this paper. The main conclusion is that, even if job itself is seen as a stressor, there are other important factors that can produce stress such as: family problems, personal problems or social problems.

The purpose of this study was to determine The Effect of Job Stress on Employee Performance. The research uses quantitative methods. For data analysis and hypothesis testing, SPSS version 26 is used. The test results show that work stress has a significant and negative effect on employee performance. Based on the coefficient of determination test (R2), the contribution of work stress to employee work performance is 0.783, or 78.3%, the rest is explained by other variables that do not exist in this study..

The Effect of Stress on Employees Productivity

The studies aimed at examine the effect of stress on employees' productivity. Both primary and secondary data required for the study was collected and analyzed. The study discovered that organizational stress affect the quality productivity of the workers which were caused by improper time management, work over load, study recommended among others; that the organizations should provide modern facilities that will enhance performance and lessen organizational stress. The management should not focus mainly on increased productivity but the welfare of the workers should be seen as priority.

Occupational stress is the adverse psychological and physical reactions that occur in an individual as a result of their body being unable to cope with the demands being made on them. Job stress makes employees more prone to error, poor work performance, mental health issues, burnout, and conflict in the workplace. If job stress goes unaddressed, organizations pay the price in higher rates of turnover, disengagement, and absenteeism. The paper uncovered essential factors on the stress management and employee productivity. Using the desk research method to acquire and analyze secondary data, the study revealed among others that elements of job satisfaction like remuneration, promotion, conducive working environment, fair working conditions, health care and reward can enhance the management of stress in employees adding that excess workload without adequate time to rest can lead to stress on employees thereby reducing their efficiency and productivity as poor working conditions, long working hours, risks and danger, introduction of new technology without adequate training and role ambiguity are the major constituents of stress.

Impact of Stress on Job Performance of Employees

Stress has a direct impact on employee performance. Stress leads to improve performance to an optimum point beyond the optimum point further stress and arousal have detrimental effect on performance. This is because employees who work in highly stressful situations may feel tired and depressed. They also create physical and mental problem such as high blood pressure, hearing problem and mental disorder. These mental and physical disorders not only affect the performance of the employees but also affect the productivity of the organisation. Stress in the workplace not only reduces productivity but also increases management pressures and makes people physically and mentally ill. Workplace stress affects the performance of employees. Moreover, the negative performance of employees will bring inefficiency in banks. In this regard, the present study attempts to examine the impact of stress on the job performance of employees who are working in public sector banks and private sector banks in India. The findings conclude that various kinds of stress negatively impact the job performance of the employees of selected public and private sector banks.
