The present experiment was conducted to study the response of naphthalene acetic acid NAA and integrated nutrient management on yield and yield attributes as well as and economics of chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) with four levels of NAA (0 ppm, 25 ppm, 50 ppm and 75 ppm) and five levels of vermicompost (VC) along with RDF (V0-100% Recommended dose of fertilizer i.e. 120:60:60 Kg N P K /ha ), V1-100% N through Vermicompost, V2-75% N through VC + 25% (RDF), V3-50% N through VC + 50% (RDF) , V4-25% N through VC + 75% (RDF), having 20 treatment combinations. The results revealed that the combine application of 50 ppm NAA and 100% N through vermicomposti.e. P2V1 performed well in respect of fruit length (8.73 cm), fruit diameter (1.46 cm) and fruit weight (2.91 g) while the application of NAA 50 ppm + 50% N through vermicompost along with 50% RDF i.e. P2V3 gave significantly (P=0.05) maximum number of fruits/plant (73.86) and fruit yield per hectare (121.20 q) with higher gross income (Rs....

Among the hundred chilli germplasm, highest fruit diameter (1.2cm) was recorded in DPLC-15, Wakawali-20 and Konkan kirti of pure chilli germplasm and WKLC-11 and WKLC-14 of F5 germplasm. WKLC-6 (9.4cm) of F5 generation showed maximum fruit length, while maximum fruit weight was found in DPLC-15 (31.60 g) of pure chilli germplasm. Significant difference was observed in hundred chilli germplasm. Highest moisture percentage (93.58 %) was recorded in WKLC-1 of F2 generation of chilli germplasm while Ascorbic acid was found to be maximum (196.06 mg 100 g-1) in WKLC-15 of F6 generation of chilli germplasm. Highest nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium contents were found in WKLC-12 (1.75%), WKLC-2 (0.20%) and WKLC-10 (2.92%) of F2 generation. Highest values for iron, zinc and copper content were found in WKLC-18 (23.41 mg kg-1), WKLC-6 (42.75 mg kg-1) and WKLC-3 (45.37 mg kg-1), respectively, of F2 generation of chilli germplasm. Manganese content was found to be highest in Wakawali-19 (34.66 mg kg-1) of pure chilli germplasm. The correlation revealed that fruit diameter and fruit length had significant positive correlation with fruit weight. Moisture had positive and significant correlation with iron, zinc and manganese. Iron had positive and significant correlation with manganese. Manganese showed significant positive correlation with zinc and copper content.

Abstract: An experiment was conducted during 2016-2017 at Vegetable Research and Demonstration Block of college of horticulture, VCSG Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Bharsar. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. Six diverse chilli lines viz. Byadgi Dabbi, Byadgi Kaddi, Arka Lohit, Arka Suphal, G-4 and Pant C-1 used as parents and were crossed in a diallel fashion (excluding reciprocals) to obtain fifteen cross combinations along with one check cultivar Arka Harita. Totally 22 genotypes were evaluated for biochemical traits. Among the genotypes studied, Pant C-1 (1.07%), Arka Lohit (0.72%), Arka Lohit × Pant C-1 (0.89%) and Arka Suphal × Pant C-1 (0.74%) recorded the highest capsaicin content and the lowest capsaicin content was recorded in Byadgi Dabbi (0.02%), Byadgi Dabbi × Byadgi Kaddi (0.03%). The highest ascorbic acid content among the entries recorded was 218.35mg/100g (Byadgi Dabbi), 197.84mg/100g (Byadgi Kaddi) and 223.17mg/100g (Byadgi Kaddi × Arka Lohit), 211.36mg/100g (Byadgi Dabbi × Pant C-1) and the lowest ascorbic acid content recorded was 111.73mg/100g (Arka Suphal), 120.12mg/100g (Pant C-1) and 115.01mg/100g (Arka Lohit × Pant C-1). From the above study, it was concluded that the cultivars viz. Byadgi Dabbi and Byadgi Kaddi × Arka Lohit have high ascorbic acid content and similarly Pant C-1 and Arka Lohit × Pant C-1 have high capsaicin content hence, these genotypes can be utilized for further crop improvement programmes at the same time such cultivars which also fetches high market price both in domestic and export markets. An experiment was conducted during the rainy (kharif) seasons of 2017–18 and 2018–19 at the research farm of Dr. Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry in Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh to study the effects of different planting methods, mulches and the addition of natural organic acids (NAAs) on bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) growth and yield. The experiment involved 12 different treatments of 2 planting methods, 3 mulching levels, and 2 levels of NAA in a Randomized Block Design (Factorial) and 3 replications. The yield and its characteristics were shown to be highly impacted by planting methods, mulch material, and NAA levels. In terms of maximum plant height, early blooming, maximum fruit length, fruit width, fruit weight, fruits/plant, fruits/plot, and yield/ha, P1, M2, and N1 each stood out as the best. Red chili is an easily damaged agricultural product that needs to be processed, one of the processing that can be done is drying the red chili and then made into powder. To reduced the quality degradation during drying process used ascorbic acid which acted as an antioxidant: This study aimed to determine the effect of chili powder and obtaining the best ascorbic acid concentration in retaining the chemical content of chili powder. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan\'s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% significance level. The treatment used was the difference in the concentration of ascorbic acid, A (0%), B (2%), C (4%), D (6%), E (8%). The research result showed that the difference in vitamin C concentration, antioxidant activity, capsaicin content, oleoresins content and water activity. And was not significantly affected the color test and moisture content. The research results showed that ascorbic acid concentration of 8% (treatment E) was the best chili powder, with moisture content of 10.31%, vitamin C of 165.73 mg/g, capsaicin content of 4.71%, water activity of 0.336, color test of 89.58 0Hue, antioxidant activity of 42.69%, oleoresins content of 15.29%.

The present investigation was conducted at Horticultural Research Station, Lam, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh to elucidate the interrelationship among seven biochemical traits and fruit yield and to estimate the direct and indirect effects of biochemical traits on yield in seventy one genotypes of chilli comprising 54 F 1 hybrids, 15 parents and two commercial checks. Fruit yield per plant has showed positive, non-significant association with ascorbic acid and capsaicin whereas, it"s association with oleoresin was negative and significant. The path analysis revealed that the quality parameters viz., ascorbic acid, capsaicin, red and yellow carotenoids had positive direct effect on fruit yield per plant. Among these four, only red and yellow carotenoids have recorded high positive direct effect indicated that direct selection for fruit yield per plant through these traits will be effective.

The experiment was conducted at Instructional Farm, College of Agriculture, Vellayani during July-November of 2012. The treatments consisted of three levels of FYM - F1 (20 t ha-1), F2 (15 t ha-1) and F3 (10 t ha-1) and three levels of substitution of the recommended dose of nitrogen. The levels of substitution are N1 (100 % recommended dose of N- 75 kg ha-1), N2 (75 % recommended dose of N -56.25 kg ha-1) and N3 (50 % recommended dose of N - 37.5 kg ha-1).
