2018, MORTALS AND MYSTERY: METAPHORS OF MEANING FOR THE JOURNEY
This essay plumbs cosmological findings to illustrate the notion that "real living" means dying to the self-centered "Self" (as 'god') and living into love for others, as the fulfillment of the aspirations of all the world's most popular "religions", each pursuing its "goal" from a different (but related) perspective. We are loved into existence. To truly live, we must respond with love to "the other", including those at the margins. A personal manifesto, capping the exploration of ten metaphors leading to "life overflowing".

Re-Inventing Christianity As A Socially Sustainable Christian Religion
The historic Christian church has three major elements that need sorting: An irrational Pauline Theology, an unsustainable church organization, and the absence of a strategic marketing program. The first issue is handled in the first half of the book; the second and third in the last half. For issues of organizational development and the marketing aspect, begin on page 73.
The Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is known as a means of pious devotion, yet it is based on a deep scriptural and theological foundation within the Catholic Church.
In this chapter I offer one, or a small set of, possible interpretation(s) of the basic story of the Bible. I suggest that the symbolic meaning of the story derives in large part from conceptual structures and conceptual mechanisms that are shared by a large number of speakers of English and other languages belonging to the European cultural sphere. My claim is that a large part of the dominant features of Christianity can be understood on the basis of people's everyday conceptual system and that the understanding of these features does not require an entirely independently existing conceptual apparatus that is somehow unique to the interpretation of the sacred.
Essays in Biblical Interpretation
2005
1 FORWARD This book, as may be gathered from its title, is a group of essays loosely structured around the central theme of biblical interpretation. These essays are the fruit of several years of study and writing while a graduate student at Global University. Each essay is a self-contained unit of thought, but the work as a whole retains a unit of purpose-to uncover what it is that God is saying in the Bible, how He is saying it, and how it can be understood and applied today. The foundational presupposition of the entire work is the centrality of Jesus in all of God's revelation. From this presupposition several key secondary presuppositions are derived and elucidated throughout the work (it will be left to the reader to discover what these secondary presuppositions are). The essays have been grouped into four parts with five chapters each: the history of biblical interpretation, the message of the Bible, the form of the Bible, and the Bible in theology and apologetics.
