Improving Learning Materials Based on Local Culture to Strengthen the Character of the Students of Etementary School

Learning materials based on local culture are an attempt to preserve the local culture through learning. It is expected to provide insight into the results of the local culture to the next generation. Processes in education, teachers are not only running the function of Science (transfer of knowledge) but also serve to instill the value (value) as well as build character (character Building) learners on an ongoing basis and continuously. Teachers have the responsibility of revitalizing local culture through learning strategies that cater elementary school students close to the cultural envlronment of students as well as providing a model of culturdl preservation through education. A skilled teacher is one of those teachers who are able to devise and develop learning materials from a variety of learning resources. ext, the use of visual media into a local cultural materials has not been implemented to its full potential by Elementary School teachers seKecamatan town and subdiskict of Bae as a reference material for learning Holy thematic integrative learning and media introduction of the local culture. The results showed that the need for teachers'skills in developing local culture Sacred materials, including: the planning phase, the phase of implementation, the evaluation phase.

Teaching Learning model is the basis for learning practices that are designed based on the analysis of the implementation of the curriculum and its implications at the operational level in the classroom. There is a conceptual framework that describes a systematic procedure of organizing learning experiences to achieve the learning objectives. History study is a combination of learning and teaching activities that studying past events which closely related to the present. It is expected that the use of historical sources including local historical sites in the study of history, can improve the quality of students learning process which can be seen from the motivation and learning achievement. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that (1) The Development of Teaching learning model of history study based on local history sites can improve the quality of learning (2) local historical sites can be used as one of the effective teaching materials.

Lesson study learning community (LSLC) is one of the various innovations to make students have a good quality in learning in this 21st-century era. The objective of the study was to produce a learning trajectory in English which can help students in learning descriptive text material through LSLC in the classroom. This study used design research method type validation study. The participants were 32 seventh-grade students and English teachers of SMP Negeri 18 Palembang. The data were collected through interview, observation, documentation, and field notes. The results of the study revealed the teachers did not implement the application of lesson study learning community based on the appropriate stages. This study aims at describing teachers’ and students’ towards developing Indonesian learning materials based local wisdom in class X SMA Negeri 3 Palopo. This research is a research and development with the stages of research as demonstrated by Borg and Gall & Sugiyono. Material development begins with preliminary studies, preparation of prototypes, expert validation test, testing in schools, and the analysis of the test results. The results of this study in the form of products, namely: (1) the student book, (2) Lesson Plan, and (3) Students’ worksheet. The trial results questionnaire data show that teachers positively responded that the Indonesian learning based local wisdom need to be taught in high schools today. The learning process of mathematics in class VIII1 shows that there are still many students who are less active, creative and not independent. One of the causes of students' lack of creativity in mathematics learning is classical and conventional learning systems, namely guruselain learning that is the habit of students in mathematics learning often mimic the duties of friends, there is no desire to look for material from other sources and lack of opinion. To overcome these problems, the problem formulation in this study is whether the Resource Based Learning approach can improve student creativity on the subject of circles in class VIII1 of Padangsidimpuan Middle School 8, this study aims to improve student creativity through the application of the Resource Based Learning approach on the subject ligkaran in class VIIII of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. This research was conducted in class VIIII of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan, having its address at Jl, Tengku Rizal Nurdin, Km.8 Pijorkoling Padangsidimpuan Tenggara. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2013-2014 academic year consisting of 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 meetings and 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were class VIIII students totaling 32 people. The instruments of data collection used in this study were observations supported by questionnaires and interviews. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the results of observations of students 'creativity with the application of the Resource Based Learning approach in the first cycle of the 1st meeting of students' creativity are still low, that is, an average of 43.6%, then at the second meeting which is 64.2% of what is expected so that the researcher must continue the research to cycle II. In the second cycle the third meeting of students' creativity became 74.3% then at the 4th meeting which was 85.4%. While the results of the questionnaire in the first cycle with an average of 66% and in the second cycle to 80%. Based on observations supported by questionnaires and interviews, it can be concluded that the application of the Resource Based Learning approach succeeded in increasing students' creativity on the subject of circles in class VIIII SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.

The implementation of the learning process is always oriented to the mastery of competence by students. One of the important competencies possessed by students is high order thinking skills (HOTS). Based on the results of observations at the Darussholihin NW Kalijaga Islamic Boarding School Foundation, Aikmel District, East Lombok Regency, it was obtained: (1) The students' critical thinking ability in chemistry subjects was on average still low; (2) Students' chemistry learning outcomes are relatively low; (3) The ability of teachers to apply learning models that can improve students' critical thinking skills is still low; and (4) Teachers carry out individual learning so that it is difficult to evaluate the learning process as a result of continuous improvement of learning is difficult to implement. The solution offered in this community service activity is in the form of teacher assistance in implementing lesson study for learning communities (LSLC) in SMA/MA/SMK within the Darussholihin NW Kalijaga Islamic Boarding School Foundation, Aikmel District, East Lombok Regency. This activity is carried out with a training approach, learning practice, and reflection. This activity was carried out in two stages: the first stage of socialization and workshops on LSLC, then in the second stage of lesson study (LS) practice. The results achieved from this activity are: (1) Students' critical thinking skills in chemistry subjects need to be continuously improved through various learning innovations; (2) Improving students' chemistry learning outcomes; (3) Increased understanding of teachers regarding the principles, benefits, and scope of lesson study and LSLC appropriately; and (4) increasing the enthusiasm of teachers to carry out improvement of lesson study-based learning which consists of stages of planning (plan), implementation of learning and observation (do), and reflection (see), as well as redesign .

The purpose of this study is to find out how the development and feasibility of teaching materials based on the local history of the Alas people's struggle against the Dutch colonialism in the material of Aceh jihad class XI IPS SMA Negeri Semadam, Southeast Aceh Regency. This type of research is a type of development research using a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the research were in the form of developing teaching materials based on the local history of the struggle of the Alas people against the Dutch colonial for students of SMA Negeri Semadam class XI IPS.
