The African Solutions to African Problems is one of the remarkable achievements of the transformation of the OAU to AU. The ASAP through the stability apparatus and mechanisms of the AU has assisted the African continent in maintaining peaceful and stable environment that guarantee the safety of lives and properties of the entire people living in the African continent irrespective of their race and nationality. The study examines some of the circumstances that led to the formation of ASAP in Africa and how the AU has utilized the security apparatus or organs that provided under the Constitutive Act of the organization to maintain stability in the continent. The study makes use of the hegemonic stability theory to explain how collective responsibility is the security and stability issue in Africa. This has been achieved in Africa through the Standby Force designed for each of the five regions of the continent driven by the emerging powers among the States in each of the African regions, such as Nigeria in the West Africa, South Africa in the Southern Africa among others. This study therefore is qualitative approach through the uses of secondary source of data to assess how efficiency and effectiveness of the AU towards achieving the ASAP objectives to the African continent. Similarly, the likely hindrance that affects the organization in the course of achieving the ASAP's objectives with a suggested remedy is thereby addressed in the study.
