Abstract: This article seeks to contextualize the thematic of the construction of a cosmopolitan society from the panorama of the global cities of the XXI century. In so far as are verified the intrinsic advances of modernization, the contemporaneity brought with it a series of paradoxes and challenges originating from the phenomenon of globalization, which transformed the systems of reference and began to demand answers to the numerous social complexities. The fundamental problem resides in the idea of finding real possibilities to constitute and consolidate cosmopolitan spaces within the global cities in the face of heterogeneities, intolerances and individualisms that transposes the national order of the sovereignty and territorial state model, synthesizing both local and global. In this sense, the objective is to analyze, through the use of the hypothetical-deductive method and the technique of bibliographical research, the cosmopolitan dimension of coexistence of subjects and macrosocial tendencies of globalized society, with a view to the protection of human rights and the inclusion of differences that materialize worldwide. Therefore, in this era marked by deep paradigmatic transitions, full of risks and insecurities, it becomes urgent the necessity to combine the model of global cities with the prospects of a cosmopolitanism that recognizes the essence of sociocultural diversities and the ideal of the world's citizen.
