5th-6th Century Glass from the Hilltop Settlement of Tonovcov Grad (Slovenia) (original) (raw)
In the southeastern Alpine region, the mid-5th century saw the emergence of fortified hilltop settlements amid the decline of Roman urban life. Glass artifacts from this period are generally scarce across Slovenia, with Tonovcov grad being a notable exception, revealing a range of glass vessels, including goblets and lamps. This paper aims to analyze these finds, emphasizing their historical significance and the continued use of glass during Late Antiquity, while also exploring the context of regional trade and production.
