From its origins in Ancient Greece, the historical narratives have been written on the wars almost with exclusiveness. The Historians have made global descriptions of armies, navies and battelfields, but remained in silence about the sufferings of soldiers, the injuries of war, and the disasters caused by the conflicts. This paper studies the limits of historical war narratives, their credibility and the nature of rethorical constructions, from Antiquity to present time.
