The subject of the article is the theoretical and applied aspects of assessing the level of achieving sustainable development of the enterprise. The aim of the research is to use innovative means to develop the concept of assessing the level of achievement of sustainable development in the system: enterprise-industry-region-state. During the study, groups of external and internal stakeholders were identified from the position of 3 levels. There is a significant inconsistency of motives of stakeholders in the implementation of the concept of sustainable development at the enterprise le vel and a diverse vision of the essence and meaning of the term sustainable development of the enterprise. This necessitated the formulation of the concept of assessing sustainable development in the system: enterprise-industry-region-state in terms of external and internal sustainability of development. The obtained results describe a system of indicators of the level of sustainable development in terms of its "usefulness" for the regional and national economy and can be used to develop and implement measures to ensure sustainable development at the individual enterprise, region, industry and state.

The concept of sustainable development and its use for sustainability scenarios
The problem of conceptual descriptions and evaluation of sustainable development are analyzed in the work. As the objectives, descriptions of the concept of sustainable development are analyzed and classified. Then the analysis of the concept of sustainable development is given. After this analysis the systematic view of the dimensions of sustainable development is provided. Methods of systematic scientific literature analysis, general and logical analysis, comparison and generalization were used for the research. Although the essence of the concept of sustainable development is clear enough, the exact interpretation and definition of sustainable development have caused strong discussions. Thus, we should take into consideration the fact that the concept of sustainable development may be difficult to understand and may have different meaning dependending on the analyzed literature on the concept in which it is used. For this reason, in the article we presented several descriptions of sustainable development that would include multiple aspects of this concept. Difficulties related to the definition of sustainability show that sustainable development is a complex and multidimensional issue, which combines efficiency, equity, and intergenerational equity based on economic, social, and environmental aspects. Debates on sustainable development presented in the literature can be classified into several thematic areas: a) conceptual; b) contextual; c) academic; and d) geopolitical, which are investigated in the article in more details. As a general concept, sustainable development encompasses three fundamental approaches: economic, environmental, and social development, which are interrelated and complementary. Traditionally, the concept of sustainable development involves three equivalent components: environmental, economic, and social development; as well as three dimensions of wellbeing, i.e. economic, ecological, and social, and their complex interrelations, which are investigated in article in more details.
Sustainable Development and Its Challenges in the Context of Global Economy
Zero Waste Management and Circular Economy, 2021
The environment has been ravaged and overexploited by human beings almost from the dawn of civilization. However, no sooner that in the course of the industrial revolution did the extensive exploitation of the Earth 's resources, combined connected with the destruction of nature on a really great scale being a side-effect of economic activities, commence. Along with the globalization process, and the spread of the business philosophy of ''profit at any cost'', the situation was becoming ever more serious. This as well as many ecological disasters caused by human activity made mankind aware of the ''shape of dangers to come'' and the need to counteract the degradation of the environment, which gave rise to various environment protection concepts. Among them, ''sustainable development'', offering a well-balanced approach to the relationship between mankind and the environment, plays an essential role. Sustainable development, which, meanwhile, has become a sui generis universal doctrine, is based upon three main pillars: social inclusion, economic growth and environment protection. According to the majority of public opinion, it is an adequate response to many contemporary challenges. However, it is not easy to implement its goals nowadays as there are many challenges, most of which are connected with the effects of catastrophes connected with climate changes, the scarcity of resources, soil and air contamination, social inequalities, political tensions, at times leading to wars, or business' selfish attitudes and nationalistic ''sacro egoismo''. To be effective, sustainable development must cover several key areas of mankind activity such as education, economy or health care. Decision-makers like entrepreneurs and managers can play an important role in this endeavour. The purpose of this article is to holistically present the possibilities of implementing sustainable development concept in the context of relevant previous experiences and the current threats. This article fills the existing gap in research evidenced by the content of the literature of the subject. Methodology approach: The specificity of this research rendered it necessary to use the documentary research method and historical research method. Social implications: In the area of application, this article presents the conclusions resulting from it having become possible to sustainable development concept as well as possible difficulties in this respect. In this context, the role of human consciousness in finding the best solutions to the difficulties faced by all the stakeholders of implementing sustainable development concept was emphasized.
The problem presented in this paper is related to the urgent issue of managing regions using the concept of sustainable development, a complex multi-criterial and multilevel problem of choice of development strategy. Thus the formation of the concept of sustainable development for a regional level is important. At this level the problem of sustainable development becomes realistic, being embodied in certain measures with the particular purposes, rigidly connected to specifity of each region. Such complexity excludes any intuitive approach. The most modern methods of computer science are required. These tools allow us to build the required strategy of development on the basis of a multialternative choice and the synthesis of numerous alternatives, developed theoretically or offered in practice. This paper deals with the creation of such tools. The conception of a regional model with the optimization algorithm of a development strategy and the software for experimental computations are presented , together with the compact aggregated variant of the vector of state parameters of a regional system, allowing us to take into account the peculiarities of a region for further system analysis. The important part of this work is the development of procedures for filling theoretical models with information on the basis of the interdisciplinary approach, essentially adding and changing the existing systems of statistics and monitoring. A new methodological step in this work is the construction of the social block in a model in addition to the economic and ecological blocks already present. Techniques of identification of an aggregated model are developed. These techniques are approved using available statistical material. Experimental calculations, demonstrating the efficiency of the offered approach, are introduced. The ultimate goal of this paper is the creation of an information and program complex for the construction of a sustainable development strategy of regions.
