DESENVOLVIMENTO ECONÔMICO E CAPITAL HUMANO: TEORIAS, CRÍTICAS E ANÁLISE DO CASO BRASILEIRO (original) (raw)

The divergences and criticisms surrounding the Human Capital Theory are pertinent and at the same time provocative, as it question the capacity of investments in education and health to respond to private earnings in terms of wages, and to be the link between growth and economic development. By the way, this article aims to revisit the theoretical framework that provides the support for this theory, well as to explain its contributions, visions and critiques, and its applicability in the Brazilian case. Under the light of the theoretical debate, this study is not intended to point out the validity of this theory or to exhaust the debate around it, but to signal its applicability under the different optics and currents of thought.
