Study concerning the relations between man and nature on the coast surrounded by Solimões river of Iranduba municipality-AM. Emphasis is given on how communities deal with water resources, since they are installed in the geomorphological unit denominated flood plain, they may be subjected to the river seasonality. The objective is to comprehend and analyse how the interaction with water resources shape the daily life of the rural riverside communities. For this purpose, it was made field researches in 11 communities, where there were conversations with leaders and a bibliographic search with secondary data. The results obtained show that the local residents have dependency on the water environment. Water is important to the residents on the housework and production, but in spite of the big abundance of this resource the community has difficulties to obtain potable water, since no community has an efficient supply system. The lateral fluvial erosion is a risk that affects directly the dwellings, production aspects and the infrastructure of communities. The loss of lands ensure a retreat of the structures next to the riverside. In addition, it is caused a migration effect to the urban centers and rural areas on the dry land.
