Turkey with a population of 81 million is actively using the internet. 84% of this population regularly enter the Internet daily and spend an average of 7 hours surfing the Internet via PCs, tablets or smartphones. Social networking sites are used for spending this time mostly. One of them is the Instagram which may be one of the most effective about visual materials. Worldwide the US 110 million users with a list of the number of Instagram users received first place in Turkey ranks fifth with 33 million and the population / number of users rate with the is the world second position followed by Sweden with 41%. The purpose of the study, it was to develop a scale to determine the preferences of the Z generation which members who were born in a digital age after 1995 and live with technology. In the study, data obtained from in preferences for using Instagram determined in the Brainstorming session with the Z generation member group were used. With these data, it was aimed to evaluate the perceptions and attitudes of Z generation young people about Instagram preferences in social networks. In order to carry out this evaluation, a 5-point Likert-based scale was developed and analyzed with statistical devices.
