The distrust of the population in the mining companies has its origin in clear examples of pollution of lakes, rivers and entire populations, where the health of the population was affected; a clear example is La Oroya. The effects caused by human activities of extraction, production, consumption and final disposal of waste generate on the environment. Added to this, the contemporary debate on environmental issues is crossed by political and economic interests that deepen the uncertainties in decision-making. In the country there have been many socio-environmental conflicts, which are exacerbated by the environmental crisis that humanity is experiencing. We think about how viable mining investments are in areas dedicated to agriculture; particularly in Tía María. That is why we had the interest to investigate the Tía María conflict because of the importance it deserves for the development of our region and, therefore, of our country. We believe that it should have been prevented before the loss of lives 8 human Our research work is focused on knowing the true opinion of the population, their knowledge, their perspectives and the expectations they have today, after the consequences of the outbreak of the violent conflict of 2015, a conflict that continues to be lived today, because There has been a formal solution. Many important points have been touched on this social conflict, especially technical ones, but the discourse of the inhabitants was never studied. That doubt led us to carry out this research, we saw it convenient to study the social actors that we consider most important: the farm laborers, landowners, leaders, and policemen, whom we interviewed.
