This study evaluated undergraduate Business Education degree programs of the Faculty of Education, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt. The evaluation research design was adopted for the study. A sample size of 150 respondents was purposively adopted to represent the sample size. The data collection techniques employed in this survey are observation and questionnaire techniques. The instruments were Business Education Programme Evaluation Checklist (BEPEC) and Business Education Objectives Questionnaire (BEOQ). Mean and standard deviation scores were used to answer the research questions, non-parametric statistics (Kruskal Wallis test) to test the normality of the instrument. The results revealed that the objectives for the Business Education undergraduate program at Rivers State University are adequately effective and useful, while the few areas of deficiencies recorded were not in the philosophy and objectives of Business Education, but in the provision of facilities and equipment. It was recommended that the institution should engage the services of experts in educational evaluation to constantly evaluate its undergraduate programs to ensure all components of the programs are updated regularly to meet the required minimum academic standards established by the National Universities Commission. Also, with the proliferation of the latest development of technological hardware and software; the Head of the department should internally source for funds to provide the lacking equipment and facilities for the teaching and learning of Business Education.
EVALUATION OF BUSINESS EDUCATION PROGRAMME IN FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SPECIAL OYO
This study investigated the quality of Business Education programmes in higher institutions of learning in Oyo State. Three research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. This study adopted a descriptive survey design. The population of the study comprised 100 Business Education lecturers and students in the state and. There was no sampling since the population was manageable. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire. The content and face validity of the instrument was adequately handled. The mean scores was used to answer the research questions. The findings identified quality research and publications, quality curriculum, quality text books, discipline of teachers, quality infrastructure, quality teaching facilities among others, as some of the strategies for enhancing quality assurance in Business Teacher Education in Nigerian colleges of Education. It was, therefore, recommended that adequate qualified teachers should be employed by the school authorities and Business Education curriculum should be widened to accommodate relevant areas in marketing, accounting, office technology and management.
This paper investigated the assessment of business education students' enrolment trend in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State. The main purpose of this study was to assess the enrolment trend of Business Education students in A.A.U from 2007/2008 to 2011/2012 academic session. Five research questions were raised to guide the study and three hypotheses were formulated. The case study research design was adopted for this study. The simple random sampling technique was used in drawing up 100 respondents from the population. The questionnaire titled 'Assessment of Business Education Students' Enrolment Trend Questionnaire (ABESETQ)' was used in eliciting information from the students. The instrument was validated by experts and the test-retest method of reliability was adopted in obtaining a coefficient of 0.81. The researchers together with a research assistant administered the instrument. The Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS), Mean, Standard Deviation and ttest statistics were used in analyzing the data. One of the findings is that there is a significant difference between the perceptions of male and female Business Education students as regards factors affecting enrolment trend in A.A.U. A major recommendation made was that there should be conscious government policies aimed at reinforcing and revamping Business education.
This study aims to assess the factors influencing quality assurance of Business Education programme in Nigerian public Education Colleges of Ogun State. Thus, the study was guided by three research questions and three null hypotheses. Consisting of 245 Business Education students' sampling, the study adopts descriptive survey design. Adapted from Babayemi (2019), Azasu, et. al. (2015) and Salami (2019), this study developed a structured questionnaire, Factors Influencing Quality Assurance of Business Education Programme Questionnaire (FIQABEDQ) as its structured questionanaire. The questionnaire was validated by three experts and applied to the study. Split-half method was utilised to establish reliability coefficient, at 0.83 using Cronbach Alpha. The data generated for the study were analysed using mean and standard deviation. All null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using inferential statistic of ANOVA. The findings showed, among others, that Business Education curriculum moderately influenced the achievement of Business Education Programme's objective. In addition, this study suggests that Business Education curriculum should be revisited and tailored towards equipping for self-employment, among others. Therefore, cooperation and collaboration among Business Education's stakeholders are needed in an attempt to achieve the stated objectives in Business Education by providing ample and proper modern facilities in their tertiary institutions.
BUSINESS EDUCATION IN NIGERIA: ISSUES, CHALLENGES AND WAY FORWARD FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The main aim of this research was to investigate: the challenges facing business education programme; and how the possibilities of overcoming the challenges of business education programme would help in promoting national development. The survey design was adopted for the research. The population consists of 132 business educators' in universities and colleges of education in Edo and Delta States. Two research questions were raised and answered using the mean statistic, while two corresponding hypotheses were formulated and tested using the t-test statistic. A four point scaled questionnaire was used for data collection, validated by two experts and the reliability coefficient using the Cronbach alpha method was 0.82. The results showed that there are challenges facing business education programme. It also showed how the possibilities of overcoming the challenges of business education programme would help in promoting national development. There was no significant difference between the mean ratings of business educators in universities and colleges of education on the challenges facing business education programme, and no significant difference between the mean ratings of male and female business educators on how possibilities of overcoming the challenges facing business education programme would help in promoting national development. Logical conclusion was drawn based on these findings. It was recommended, among others, that government and other major stakeholders should invest their resources (financially and otherwise) to ensure the possibilities of overcoming the challenges facing business education for national development.

The study analyzed the rationales for students' negative attitudes towards business education programme of tertiary institutions in Delta State. Four research questions were answered and four null hypotheses were tested at a 0.05 level of significance. The survey design research design was employed in the study. The population consisted of 1,885 Business Education students in five tertiary institutions in Delta State, in the 2023/2024 academic session. Twenty percent (20%) of the population which is 377 was used as the sample size, applying the systematic random sampling technique. The research instrument used in this study was the closed format questionnaire structured on a four-point Likert scale, consisting of section A with four (4) items dealing with the biographic data of the Students and section B with twenty (20) items dealing with the research questions and hypotheses. The Cronbach Alpha Reliability Test (CART) technique was adopted in establishing the reliability of the Instrument yielding a coefficient of 0.91. Mean was used to answer the raised research questions and T-test statistics was used in analyzing the formulated hypotheses. The findings revealed that; public perception, lack of workshop machines and equipment, content skills training, lack of infrastructural facilities, and non-functional libraries were rationales for students’ negative attitudes towards business education programme of tertiary institutions in Delta State. Hence, it was recommended that, there should be proper public enlightenment and education on what business education is all about. This will correct the negative attitude concerning the programme as an all-comer programme which is designed to accommodate the never-do-well, a programme for the other person’s child, a programme for those not having the brain power for vigorous academic demands, a somewhat inferior type of education, etc. Keywords: Rationales, Students Negative Attitude, Business Education

This study investigated the status and management of resources for effective instructional delivery of business education programme in tertiary institutions in River State. The Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 109 lecturers that took part in the study. The study adopted descriptive survey design. An instrument titled 'Status and Management of resources for business education programme' (SMRBP) was developed. Percentage was used to analyze the research questions, while chi-square was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 significant level. It was revealed from the study that majority of the lecturers teaching business education courses do not have the relevant certificate. The results also showed that majority of the non-human resources for business education programme are unavailable. Various measures in which resources can be properly managed was shown in the work. It was however recommended that unqualified business education lecturers be encouraged to take up programmes that will enhance their teaching quality in business education and resources should be made available by government and authorities should evolve means of properly managing the resources for achievement of business education objectives

This study focuses on factors enhancing the implementation of business education curriculum in colleges of education in North Eastern Nigeria. The study adopted survey research design. The sample of the study comprised 144 Business Education lecturers and 144 NCE III Business Education students. A simple random sampling was used in the study. The data was collected using Implementation of Business Education Curriculum Questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed using multiple regression. The findings revealed that availability of instructional resources and utilization of instructional resources enhanced the implementation of Business Education curriculum in colleges of education in North-East Nigeria significantly. The contributions of Business Education to national development being the focus of the study has diverse goals geared towards turning out the right caliber of work force of both gender with business and entrepreneurial ability and skills for positions in various sectors of the country. The study was survey. The population for the study was 30 academic staff and 736 Business Education Students of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe. Through random sampling techniques a sample size of 200 was selected for the study, 20 from academic staff and 180 from the students. A structured five point scale of Likert type of questionnaire containing 24 items was used as instrument for data collection. Five research questions were postulated. Arithmetic mean was the statistical tool used for data analysis. In spite of so many challenges confronting Business Education the result of the study showed that Business Education contributes immensely to national development.

The study determines the Pedagogical challenges facing the teaching of business studies in Bauchi State, Nigeria. Two research questions guided the study and two null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The population of the study comprised 248 business studies teachers from secondary schools in Bauchi State. Since the population size is manageable, the researchers used all populations.
