Materiais e processo da indústria náutica (original) (raw)
2017, Vol. 2 No. 2 (2017): NOVAS EXPERIÊNCIAS: DOS MATERIAIS INATOS A ELES PARA A INDÚSTRIA 4.0
The definition of materials and processes in product development can direct the design process to be applied and, in some cases, promote innovation. Considering the Brazilian nautical industry, its context and needs, this article presents the result of a master’s project that aimed to create a product to gain operational efficiency, increase productivity and reduce waste. As a result, a modular platform system has been develo-ped that includes three models of boats and their different accessories. Considering eco-design requirements, the result also presented the potential for gains and cost reduction in the production chain, considering company, people and environment.

European boat design innovation
2010
The European marine industry has a 26% share of the world market but growing competition from Asia and North America is threatening Europe’s future market share, as they adapt their products more closely to consumer demands. A recent review of research has indicated that European boat manufacturers must be able to respond to their customers and offer exciting innovative products. They will have to learn to react quickly to changing consumer preferences and engage in continuous research and development. Design and manufacturing innovation are the keys to maintaining the competitiveness of the European boat industry in world markets. The opportunity created by the EBDIG (European Boat Design Innovation Group) project to transfer innovations from the automotive industry to the boat industry is expected to result in optimised design methodologies, leading to more cost effective design practices complementing and improving the knowledge and skills of small craft designers. Design & Construction of Super and Mega Yachts 2019
Sustainable development is a continuing concern in the Superyacht Industry due to the pressure on not only minimizing environmental impact but also considering economic viability and social acceptability. It is possible to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of resource use in manufacture, operation and recycle by identifying the sustainable technologies at the design stage. However, there is a lack of a holistic method to measure sustainable performance over the life cycle of the motor yacht during the technologies selection. A Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA)based Sustainable Value Added (SVA) method has been developed to measure the sustainable performance for each technology using on the motor yacht over 24 meters. It is a new approach using the financial measure to aggregate data with existing economic terms to communicate with the investor with one language. This paper presents a systematic method and process to guide designer and owners to select and invest relati...

Traditional boat building is strongly backed by the basic knowledge of craftsmanship of local carpenters and the knowledge has been passed from father to son. Most of the traditional boats are built in temporary yards and sheds erected by the carpenters wherever they found suitable place for construction of a boat mostly close to banks of the river. There are no proper designs, no periodic surveys, rules and regulations were also inadequate for the traditional boats which are operating in coastal and river waters. Hence there are accidents due to one or more reasons as stated above. There is a need to focus on the design aspects combined with a detailed study to improve the design and construction of the traditional boats where the accidents can be minimized. In this paper an attempt has been made to study the traditional boat building activities in India by examining the technical aspects of mechanized and non-mechanized country boats. Since country crafts have complex curved natur...
