International Journal of Human Movement and Sports Sciences, 2020
Sports field is a strategic tool to achieve the 2030 vision. It is a substantial way to modify human behavior, self-discipline, refine the soul, and build the body. In addition, it plays a great role in building capital Social, strengthening the community fabric, and improving cohesion and social solidarity among individuals. The culture of sports in Saudi society, as a healthy lifestyle, is still absent. Therefore, it's indispensable to stimulate this concept in our society, to improve the quality of life and eliminate non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and obesity. This could be achieved by motivating and sensitizing individuals to the importance of sport to have a healthy lifestyle. This study aimed to determine the extent of sports practice among women in the Saudi society, by identifying the motives and obstacles among the women society in Saudi Arabia, moreover, seeking for suggestions and solutions to increase the culture of sports practice among women in Saudi society. To achieve this goal, a questionnaire has been applied to 432 Saudi women in Riyadh. The study was based on a descriptive approach. We conclude that Saudi women are keen to keep their fitness and increase their motivation for sports practice, increasing their motivation for exercising. The high cost of participating in the club is one of the obstacles that women face in society. Besides, the absence of school curricula for sport reduces Saudi women's awareness of the importance of practicing sport.
Study the Role of Mass Sports and Physical Activity in a Healthy Egyptian Society
European Scientific Journal, 2014
‗'A healthy society is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. The enjoyment of highest attainable standard of health in one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of race, political belief, economic or social condition‖ Constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO), 1946. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has provided a definition of development as "development of the people for the people by the people" (UNDP, 1993). Egypt has been long considered as one of the most attractive countries to visit because of its historical treasures. Egypt instituted several sport-for-all initiatives in its post-colonial modernization. These included a government sports council in the 1960s and the establishment of a Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) in 1999. The MYS oversees national parks and seaside areas as well as a large-scale fitness mobilization walk/jog events. A major goal of MYS was to develop and maintain youth centers in all of Egypt's metropolitan areas that would service young people's needs in mass sport and physical activities(e.g., basketball, soccer, volleyball). With Egyptian population up to 80 million there are projects related to sport-for-all, events, and or organized programs (cooperative or competitive) for large groups , including the general population participating in clubs, on playing fields, in gymnasiums , community centers and community recreation programs around Egypt. These were enough for the future of mass sport participation in a great nation with a great history in sport. The International Sport Management Questionnaire (ISMQ), created by Waters (1996), in order to determine the status of sport development in Egypt it was necessary that the ISMQ be translated in to Arabic. This would ensure that Egyptian's mass sport and activities leaders-all of whom speak Arabic as their-mother tongue‖would have every opportunity to completely understand each of the 51 question as posed specifically for mass sport and activities (and its development) and answer with accuracy, confidence, and reliability. The translation of the ISMQ was carried out by Aly& Elmahdy who are associated with this present study, then distributed to 66 Egyptian mass sport and activities leaders at different youth centers, clubs, recreation departments, in 24 out of 26 cities in Egypt. Raters were asked to provide answers to closed-and openended questions (n=51) on the ISMQ, which ultimately resulted in scoring. (Maximum=33 points) of eight factor components: objectives, legislation, organization, implementation, physical resources, human resources, research and evaluation, and contribution to healthy nation building. Analysis of data was through descriptive statistics (frequency distribution using a histogram graph that shows the frequency distribution of variable to evaluate the mass sport and physical activities distribution). The results showed that Egyptians practice recreation, mass sports and physical activities as a tool to promote health and prevent disease. Running, soccer, and team sports are mostly practiced in the southern part of Egypt while in the north west of the country people mostly practice aquatic sports such as beach volleyball, swimming, surfing, speed boating , fishing ,rowing, scuba diving, sailing, etc. Because of population increases over the

The Saudi Arabian Kingdom is currently undergoing significant socio-cultural changes, primarily driven by Vision 2030, a strategic document outlining the nation's future development. This initiative includes efforts to enhance sports participation and physical activity levels across various sectors of the country. This paper represents one of the first attempts to understand the effects of the Vision on domestic sports/physical activities (PA) policy through the lens of selected actors in the field. with a special interest in youth sports. Based on extensive fieldwork that took place within the country, including qualitative semi-structured interviews with stakeholders from various organisations within Saudi sports, we identify several key facets seen as crucial enablers or obstacles for the field of sports and physical activities. Amongst the facets, gender is identified as one of the most significant ones. It touches multiple areas of Saudi society and culture. There is also a significant couple of other factors affecting the current state of Saudi sportsactivities of official institutions, namely the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Sports, and broader cultural changes oscillating between the traditional views and modern demands seeing sports as an integral part of the society. As we explore these paradoxes using concepts like soft power and rightful resistance, we discover that the everyday legitimisation practices of sports actors play a central role in achieving and potentially surpassing the goals set by Vision 2030 for the kingdom's sporting landscape.

Annals of Agricultural and Environmental Medicine
Introduction and Objective. Organized physical activity (OPA) is an important part of adolescents' physical activity (PA). The aim of the study is to determine differences between secondary school students and sports science students at the university participation in OPA, and to recommend a strategy to increase the active participation of adolescents in OP, and improve the education of sports specialists. Materials and method. The study was carried out continuously during 2010-2020 at 71 secondary schools in the Silesian region and at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, Poland. A total of 3,510 students participated in the study (2,199 secondary school students and 1,311 sports science students). To determine participation in OPA, the Physical Activity Preference Questionnaire was used, and to determine the level of weekly PA, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire was used. Results. The largest representation in the OPA was in school (21.1%) and university (30.7%) boys in soccer, and in school (13.7%) and university (33.4%) girls in volleyball. Schoolboys participating in OPA ≥5 lessons had statistically significantly more school PA, recreation PA, vigorous and total PA than boys not participating in OPA. University boys and girls were alike in vigorous PA. School (3.35 times) and university (1.73 times) boys and school (3.93 times) and university (5.08 times) girls were more likely to meet the PA recommendations. Conclusions. Active participation in the OPA of school and university boys and girls is significantly associated with a higher level of weekly PA, and likelihood to meet the PA recommendations. The greatest attention should focused on promotion of the participation in OPA in non-participating school boys and girls, as well as non-participating students at universities, as part of their professional training.
