Zaidiyyah (original) (raw)

The Zaidiyyah sect of Islam diverges from other Islamic schools in its beliefs regarding the Imams, rejecting their infallibility and divine guidance, and viewing the Imamah as a role dependent on the Imam's actions against corrupt rulers. Zaydis uphold a living, visible Imam, adhering closely to Sunni Hanafi jurisprudence and sharing theological similarities with the Mu'tazili school. Their doctrines support the concepts of free will, social justice, and the expectation of a fighting Imam from the lineage of Hasan and Husayn.
