At the time of writing this study, the COVID-19 virus continues to spread through its multiple mutants, the latest of which is (Omicron). Therefore, it was necessary to use effective and unconventional treatments to reduce the spread of this virus and to deliver health care to its infected without the need to be exposed to the risk of infection. This research paper presents valuable solutions for communicating with COVID-19 patients through the use of information technology applications. This method contributes to reducing the consumption of medical resources, reducing contact with patients, and helping with social distancing, which contributes to reducing the spread of this virus. The process of using information technology means to provide medical advice and treatment to patients by telemedicine doctors has been clarified. More importantly, the results of this study presented the factors affecting the use of these applications in terms of social, technological, and organizational.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to present the details of a successfully implemented telehealth model in a university hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods: Istanbul Faculty of Medicine is a university hospital where the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Turkey was detected. In IFM, patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 and received outpatient or inpatient treatment were followed up by telehealth for 21-28 days after leaving the hospital. The distinguishing features of this service are the provision of remote outpatient clinical monitoring personally by physicians and the use of web-based IP information technologies. Results: Between March 15 and July 1, 2020, 1,042 individuals were followed up at least once, 860 patients for 21 days or more by the 26 physicians providing the telehealth service. A total of 11,736 calls were made by the physicians and 7,342 of those calls were answered and a total of 1,086 calls were made by patients. The median number of calls per patient was 4 (1-23). The median duration of the completed calls was 2.8 min (<1-50 min). During these follow-ups patients were informed about the importance of isolation. Most of the patients expressed their satisfaction with these follow-ups by thanking the calling physician. Conclusion: In a pandemic such as COVID-19, telehealth services may increase adherence to treatment and isolation precautions among patients with diseases that require follow-up without hospitalization after diagnosis. Telehealth will facilitate early recognition of symptoms that may require hospitalization, ensuring these patients receive the care they need. Therefore, this approach should be widely adopted.
Implementation of Internet-Based Technology in Primary Health Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Primary health care services in Indonesia are facing challenges in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Many primary health services are limited as a result of the lockdown policy, which can prevent people who are experiencing health difficulties from seeking assistance. This study aimed to examine the implementation of internet based technology in the primary health care sector for COVID-19 prevention. An experimental two-group pretest-posttest design was used. Respondents were offered an intervention in the form of internet-based instruction in five sessions (each meeting lasting 45 minutes) over three weeks; these sessions involved talks with PowerPoint presentations and applications regarding COVID-19 prevention. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic era provides a new habit in form of self-quarantine or physical distancing. The recommendation is to delay visits to health facilities if it is not in the emergency condition to slow down the spread of COVID-19 transmission. This study aims to develop a telemedicine system that integrates three main components, namely doctors, patients, and hospital management in Gotong Royong Hospital Surabaya to minimize the transmission of COVID-19 while still provides comprehensive health services. Information is changing rapidly and being constantly updated in the fight against coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) infection. Obtaining up-to-date information has become an important requirement of healthcare workers during this time. The purpose of this study was to determine information communication technology (ICT) tools used by healthcare workers to access up-to-date information concerning COVID-19 disease during the peak period. Material and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with the participation of 134 healthcare workers, 59 physicians and 75 nurses, working in Karadeniz Technical University Farabi Hospital. A data form developed by the authors was employed as a data collection tool. The data were analyzed using the chi-square and Wilcoxon signed rank tests. Results: Length of use of ICT tools and applications increased significantly compared to the pre-pandemic period (p<0.05). The ICT tool regarded as most useful by physicians and nurses for obtaining upto-date information about the COVID-19 disease during the pandemic was the official Health Ministry web site (76.4% and 71.4%, respectively) and WhatsApp (28.0% and 32.8%, respectively). The academic databases most employed for access to professional information among healthcare workers during this period were Google Scholar (44.8%), PubMed (44.0%), and MEDLINE (20.9%). Conclusion: During the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare workers mostly followed the Ministry of Health publications for access to up-to-date information on the COVID-19 disease, and benefited WhatsApp application the most. During this period, there was a significant increase in the time that healthcare workers use (ICT) tools to obtain information about clinical applications. The data obtained from this study will be a useful guide for strategies aimed at facilitating access to evidence-based information on the part of healthcare workers during times of pandemic.
The role of ICT during COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria
ICT has played a significant role through social media platforms and other information media in providing accurate information and curbing the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) across Nigeria. The response to COVID-19 has reduced face-to-face contact and as a result communication via social media has increased. This study draws on information gathered during the process of mapping and discussion to present analysis and make recommendations about priority issues related to the use of ICTs in curbing the menace of Covid-19. ICT tools are used to facilitate communication, processing, and transmission of information and sharing of knowledge by electronic means among healthcare providers either through telephones, computers, electronic-based media such as digital text and audiovideo recording, or the Internet. This paper aims to highlight the significance of ICT tools used during and after the pandemic. Therefore, the government should take necessary initiatives to deploy and technological development of ICT infrastructures or digital interventions followed by financial support and other basic amenities to combat the pandemic spread of COVID-19. This concludes that the importance of ICT tools during the pandemic cannot be overemphasize with a way out to information dissemination on updated cases regarding COVID-19 provided by Nigeria Centre for Diseases and Control (NCDC).
