This article describes six Eglptian bronze statues from private collections (lah, Ptah, Isis lactans, Isrs dolente, Zeus-Ammon) ranging from the Late Period to the Roman occupation. Some are typically Egyptian whereas others present obvious Alexandrian features. Apart from illustrating the extraordinary inventiveness of the craftsmen and artists of these periods they reveal, through their reciprocal borrowings of attributes, the syncretic atmosphere that predominated at the time.
