Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengkajian Ilmu Pendidikan: e-Saintika

This study aims to analyze the effect of the project-based learning (PjBL) model on students' scientific literacy and to describe the effect of the PjBL model on students' scientific literacy in Social Science subjects with the theme of fire disaster mitigation in residential areas. The research design used in this study is a one-group pretest-posttest design using a quantitative approach the population is 496 students, and the sample size is 60 students with a purposive sampling technique. The location of this research is SMK Negeri 1 Lamongan. The data collection technique in this study used a scientific literacy test and an observation sheet on the implementation of learning then the data analysis technique applied in this study used a feasibility test of learning instruments and tools, namely the Lesson Plan (RPP) validation test, Student Worksheet (LKPD), and scientific literacy test, then a prerequisite test was carried out namely normality, and homogeneity tests were ...

Implementation of project-based learning models to improve science literacy of junior high school students

Jurnal Pijar Mipa

This study aims to provide an overview of students' scientific literacy effectiveness through project-based learning (PjBL). The type of research used is pre-experimental design research through one group pretest-postest design. The subjects in this study were 22 students of class VII A in junior high school SMP Negeri 3 Sumberejo, Bojonegoro, in the 2022/2023 academic year. The data collection techniques used were tests and questionnaires. Research instruments are science literacy tests and student response questionnaire sheets. The results were analyzed using the N-Gain and t-paired tests with effect size. The implementation observation sheet and the response questionnaire were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that the science literacy ability of grade VII A students of SMP Negeri 3 Sumberejo increased from an average pretest score of 30.6 to 38,03 at the post-test. Students' science literacy ability is in a low category with an average N-Gain ...

IMPROVING SCIENTIFIC LITERACY THROUGH PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

Meaningfulness in science learning obtained by students through scientific literacy that are useful in solving problems in their life. This study aims to determine the increase science literacy and student responses to the project-based learning. The resulting project students in the form of a miniature greenhouse in the investigation of events greenhouse effect. Quasi-experimental method used in this study using the matching-only pretest-posttest control group design. Experimental class treatment given project-based learning, while grade control using scientific approach. Science literacy assessment using framework PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) by TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) developed by researchers through scientific literacy expert lecturers judgment.Increased literacy student experiment class and control class seen from the difference between pretest-posttest and normalized (N-gain). N-gain control experiment class and first tested for normality, of a statistical test using SPSS 16 is obtained data is not normal so followed by non-parametric statistics. Mann Whitney test was obtained from the P-value (two-tailed) 0.037, obtained P-value/2 < α (0.0158 < 0.05). It can be concluded that the scientific literacy experiment class with a miniature greenhouse project was significantly different than the control class. The response of students to project-based learning, among others: students enjoy learning science, students interested in learning project-based learning, and the seriousness of the students in the study greenhouse effect. Research can be continued using a virtual lab or linking technology in learning. Project-based learning can be integrated using the approach of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in the learning of science.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING INTEGRATED TO STEM TO ENHANCE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S STUDENTS SCIENTIFIC LITERACY

This study was done to depict Project Based Learning (PjBL) integrated with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), to enhance elementary school students’ science literation. Theme used in this study was air pollution. Research method was quasi experimental with The Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. It was conducted in 56 seventh graders of SMP Islam Terpadu, Sukabumi in which 28 students were in experiment class, and 28 students were in control class. Data is collected by pretest and posttest of sciences literacy and students questionaire about PjBL STEM. Based on the data analysis, it was known that the N-Gain averages of sciences literacy were 0,31 in experiment class as middle category and 0,22 in control class as low category. T-test showed that scientific literacy enhancemen in experimental class was more significant than in control class. General students’ reponses showed that almost all students was excited to PjBL STEM learning, got impressive experiences during the learning and boost their learning motivation and interest

Development of Project Basic Learning (PBL) In Order To Improve Student Learning Outcomes In Science Currents

Devotion Journal of Community Service

This study aims to investigate the effect of the Project Basic Learning (PBL) learning model on student learning outcomes in science subjects in class VI SDN Utan Kayu Selatan 01 Jakarta for the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is action research with two rounds. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely design, activity and observation, reflection, and revision. The target of this research is the students of class VI SDN that the student learning outcomes have increased from cycle I to cycle II, namely, cycle I (51%) and cycle II (89%). This study concludes that the Project Basic Learning (PBL) learning model has a positive effect on the learning outcomes of students at SDN Utan Kayu Selatan 01, East Jakarta, and this learning model can be used as an alternative to learning science

INTEGRATED SCIENCE LEARNING THROUGH PROJECT BASED LEARNING IN SEKOLAH INDONESIA SINGAPURA

Integrated Science Learning is a learning that combines Physics, Chemistry and Biology into a thematic learning. In this study the Integrated Science Learning conducted through Project Based Learning that emphasizes the analysis of the factual issues and investigating the problem solving by engaging 21st Century skills. Project Based Learning is centered on the learner and affords learners the opportunity for in-depth investigations of worthy topics. The steps of PBL are: Driving question, designs a plan for the project, arrange a schedule, monitor/evaluate the progress of the project and assess the outcome. 21 st Century skills to be taught and assessed are: critical thinking/problem solving, communication/oral presentation, collaboration, and tech literacy. Subjects in this study were students of grade X (chemistry subject), grade XI Science (Physics subject) and grade XII Science (Biology subject) at Sekolah Indonesia Singapura. In this study, aspects of assessment consist of a written test, oral/presentation test and observation. Based on the results of formative tests and summative tests, this study can enhance students' understanding of science and based on the observation during the study, it was concluded that 21st Century skills appears and possessed by the student when the learning processes.

The Effect of Using the Project Based Learning Model on Process Skills and Science Literation Skills

JHSS (JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES), 2018

This research is motivated by the learning process carried out in class V of SD Negeri 8 Metro Timur, SD Negeri 1 Metro Barat, SD Negeri 1 Metro Utara dan SD Negeri 5 Metro Pusat. The implementation of the learning process carried out by teachers who generally still use conventional learning methods and models that are only fixated on books and more teacher-centered, students listen to explanations from the teacher, take notes, memorize information and work on problems. practice questions rather than doing practical activities through experiments or experiments. As a result, the learning process becomes less attractive and seems monotonous because students tend to be passive and less participatory in learning activities. Teachers lack innovation in the use of active and innovative methods or learning models that are more student centered. That is, learning that provides more opportunities for students to construct independently the process of understanding material through a more ac...
