With nodes which can move randomly and connect to any nodes, it is impossible for ad hoc networks to own a fixed infrastructure. Routing is always the most significant part for any networks. During the lookup process of routing, no information is send back to originator, this result in fewer packets overhead. As per security concern, signature scheme is added in a routing process. Before sending the packet, source generates the signature with peer ID of destination and then forwards the packet to the IP address as per routing table. The packet will be decrypted only the system matched with the signature otherwise just forwards the packet to the next system. Then each node keeps the signed contact records of its earlier contacts, based on this the next contacted node can detect if the node has dropped any packet or not. Trust based Adaptive Routing algorithm is proposed from the tradeoff between trust degree and link delay. This algorithm is implemented based on AODV (Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector) protocol and provides effective routing strategy combined with security signature scheme by considering the QoS parameters such as end-to-end delay, energy consumption, packet loss and packet delivery ratio.

Trust-Based Routing Mechanism in MANET: Design and Implementation
Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a self-organizing wireless network for mobile devices. It does not require any fixed infrastructure to be configured which makes it more suitable to be used in environments that require on-the-fly setup. This paper discusses the challenging issues in MANET routing security. It presents FrAODV, a trust-based scheme for securing AODV routing protocol in MANET using the friendship mechanism. The nodes can evaluate the routing paths according to some selected features (such as node reputation and identity information) before forwarding the data through these routes. We have used two types of implementation in our scheme, simulation (using NS2) and real test-bed (using JADHOC). This scheme is believed to provide a robust environment where MANET nodes can trust each other in a secure community.
Trust Based Ad-hoc on Demand Routing Protocol for MANET
2016
Mobile Ad-hoc networks (MANET) is a set of wireless nodes without any fixed infrastructure or base station, in which nodes communicate directly to the other nodes within its transmission range over relatively bandwidth constrained wireless links. MANET is vulnerable to various types of attacks from malicious nodes due to its spontaneous nature of communication and the absence of centralized administrator. There are many attacks in MANET due to which the legitimacy of a network is compromised such as, Black Hole Attack, Worm Hole Attack, Byzantine attack, DoS attack. So, secure communication in MANET is essential and challenging task. In this paper, we present trust based Ad hoc On Demand Routing protocol for MANET. Our proposed algorithm works on the concept of honest value which is calculated on the concept of hop and trust to protect the network from malicious node. The performance of the proposed protocol is analyzed using throughput, number of drop packets, packet delivery ratio...
A Review of Various Trust Based Models in MANET
(MANETs) Mobile Ad-hoc Networks is a group of mobile nodes that are connected dynamically, in which each node acts as a router to all other nodes. Due to the absence of centralized administration and dynamic nature, MANETs are vulnerable to various kinds of attacks from malicious nodes. Several secure routing protocols like AODV, DSR, TSR, and OLSR have been used in MANET for transmission of data. In MANET, we are using trust based QoS aware routing protocol for identifying the malicious nodes in the network. Trust is mandatory in routing for transmission of data securely. Hence trust models, trust computation is implemented in the routing protocols. In this paper, survey of several trusts based and QoS aware routing protocol is performed. In this review paper, the study of different trust based and QoS aware AODV protocols that are using trusted infrastructure and trust models is performed for preventing the attacks and misbehavior from malicious nodes in the network. The performance of trust based routing protocol has been analyzed that helps to work efficiently and can be used in various applications of MANETs for improving the security performance of the network.
