Abstract
This paper analyzes the obtaining of hydrocarbons through fracking in Mexico. To this end, the energy policy that supports exploration and extraction in unconventional deposits is discussed. The constitutional energy reform approved in December 2013 and the derived legislation are examined, with the aim of documenting the new state energy model and its relationship with community water rights.
