A STUDY OF CREATIVITY AMONG SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN RELATION TO THEIR SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS

Creativity and Socio-Economic Status both are the important variables related to each and every personality living in a particular society. The present study was an endeavour to find out the Creativity and Socio-Economic Status of Senior Secondary School Students. For the present study comprises 150 students were selected randomly from District of Faridkot. The obtained results depicted that Senior Secondary School Students have Above Average Creativity. Most of Senior Secondary School Students belongs to Middle Class Families. A significant difference was obtained in Creativity between Boys and Girls Students of Senior Secondary School. The results revealed that Girl Students of Senior Secondary School are more creative than boys. There is no significant difference in Socio-Economic Status between Boys and Girls Senior Secondary School Students. No significant relationship was obtained between Creativity and Socio-Economic Status of Senior Secondary School Students.

Creativity Among High School Students of Haryana in Relation to Socioeconomic Status and Type of School

The main purpose of the present investigation was to study the creative potential of high school students, who are said to be the future of the nation. Their creative potential is only affected by demographic factors like age, sex, birth order, socioeconomic status, area type of school etc. To find answer to these questions, a sample of 400 students was taken. To measure the creativity of these school students, Baqer Mehdi (1985) Creative Scale was used. Data was analysed by using 't' test. The findings of the study revealed that students belonging to high socioeconomic status are more creative than their counterparts and the students of private school are more creative than the students of government school.

Effect of Socioeconomic Status on Emersion Adolescent Creativity

Prior research has attempted to investigate creativity as a behavior resulting from the interaction between the cognitive abilities, social environment and personal characteristics, but very little research has look at the role of environment characteristics on Emersion Adolescent Creativity. Hence, this article focuses on the effect of socioeconomic status on emerging adolescent creativity. In other words, family economic status, father's education and mother's education are the three dimensions of socioeconomic status. This exploratory correlational research study examines the relationship between family economic status, father's education and mother's education with adolescent creativity. The sampling method was employed to select the proportion of participants using stratified and multi-stage cluster random sampling. The population of the sample was 546 high school students in Education Region 4, Tehran. The participants, 249 males and 297 females, completed two questionnaires. The adolescents completed a Demographic Characteristics Questionnaire and Abedi Creativity Questionnaire, which were used as the measuring tools in this study. The results show a significant positive correlation between family economic status and creativity (p < .01), and between parent education and creativity (p < .01). Interestingly, the analyses revealed a strongly significant positive correlation between parent education and creativity (p < .01), although none was found between males and females on creativity. Conclusions were tempered by the limitations of small to moderate correlations and small effect sizes.

ROLE OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS IN ENHANCING ADOLESCENTS' CREATIVE THINKING

The present study was conducted to provide information and relation between creativity and socioeconomic status in Haryana, India. Data was collected through divergent production abilities test by K.N Sharma for creativity and SocioEconomic Status was measured by self prepared schedule of 120 students of Rewari District and 120 students of Hisar district in Haryana state, by random selection method. The result revealed that creativity is positively related with socioeconomic status. Boys and girls students differ significantly in their creativity. Significant association was found between area, age, caste and annual family income of the adolescents and the levels of overall creativity of adolescents

A STUDY ON CREATIVITY AND EDUCATIONAL STATUS OF DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS

All the human being has own qualities among them maximum are inherited by birth. From these qualities, researcher had taken only creativity to measure with different age group girls students with their educational status. Creativity is commonly thought of as a personality trait that resides within the individual. Ability to produce something new through imaginative skill, whether a new solution to a problem, a new method or device, or a new artistic objects or form. The term generally refers to a richness of ideas and originality of thinking. Psychological studies of highly creative people have shown that many have a strong interest in apparent disorder, contradiction, and imbalance, which seem to be perceived as challenges. Such individuals may possess an exceptionally deep, broad, and flexible awareness of themselves. Studies also show that intelligent has little correlation with creativity; thus, a highly intelligent person may not be very creative.

Impact of Gender and Subject on the Creativity Level of High and Low Achievers

The aim of the study was to find out effect of gender and subject on the creativity level of students. Furthermore it was aimed at finding out differences in creativity level between high and low achievers. Sample (N=154) consisted of BS Hons' students of University of Sargodha. The sample was comprised of 76 high achievers and 78 low achievers and almost equal number of girls (n=76) and boys (n =78). Abedi Creativity Test was used to measure creativity level of University undergraduates. On the basis of Cumulative grade point averages (CGPA) of previous semesters (IV & VI), high and low achievers were selected as the participants of the study. Results have revealed that there was no significant effect of gender and subject of the students on the total score of creativity (p>.05) while it was revealed that pure science students scored high on originality as compared to arts students while no differences were found on other three subscales of creativity. The present study investigated the creativity of secondary school students in Lakhimpur and Sonitpur districts of Assam.The study was conducted on four hundred class-X students by giving due representation to boys (200) and girls (200) as well as rural and urban localities of both the districts. The 08 Government and 04 Private secondary schools were selected using stratified random sampling technique, and students were selected using simple random sampling technique.The descriptive survey method is used for data collection using creativity test developed by Baqer Mehdi. The findings of the study were there was no significant mean difference on creativity between male/female, rural/urban as well as government/private secondary students of both the districts of Assam.

An investigation of the effect of social class and sex on creativity and its associated personality factors

The ability to be creative appears to be as much a reflection of aspects of the individual's personality as it is a reflection of his cognitive abilities. It was hoped to show in this investigation that both the social class and the sex of the individual would affect the development of the creative ability in that the child rearing practices which would affect both cognitive and personality attributes would differ between middle and working classes and according to the sex of the child being reared. Five creativity tests were given to 35 boys and 44 girls from both middle and working classes. The tests used were the Uses, Incomplete Designs, Circles, Tell a Story and Make a Picture tests. (The latter was specially designed for this research.)
