This chapter departs from traditional approaches to consulting and organizational psychology, because traditional approaches often look at it solely from a rational and economical view towards work in order to understand concepts such as cognition, perception, motivation, leadership, group norms and stages, organizational structures, culture, and development (see, for example, . We will argue that organizational behaviour and consultants should not only address the conscious and the, too often, mechanistic approaches to the workplace. This chapter will also address aspects of work that will go beyond simple diagnostic prescriptions to include consulting skills related to processes and dynamics as they unfold in interpersonal, group, and organizational relations.
