A Curriculum for the Future (original) (raw)

2020, University of Buckingham - MEd Dissertation

The following report is a mixed method instrumental evaluative case study focused on curriculum planning and change leadership. The curriculum alignment across two partnership schools was investigated using; participant observation, open-ended questioning (analysed using a thematic analysis), and a questionnaire (analysed using percentage ratio, median and mode ordinal data). The change leadership and curriculum planning are focused on instructional leadership and the adaptive leadership style. There is a further focus on team dynamics and collaboration. Key findings indicate that more needs to be done to ensure teachers are aware of their ‘make or break’ role in curriculum planning and delivery, closer work across key stages needs to be in place to ensure deep education experiences for pupils, challenge needs to be in the content of the ‘planned’ curriculum if it is to form part of the ‘received’ curriculum.
