Kadim Medeniyetlerden Günümüze Modern Feminist Kuramlar Bağlamında Kamusal ve Özel Alanda ‘Kadın’
OPUS Uluslararası Toplum Araştırmaları Dergisi, 2019
Throughout the historical process, in many of the different civilizations, a gender-oriented approach, such as the lack of housing of women or girls in social life, has led to ideas that transform women into nothingness in everyday life. However, for the first time in the public sphere, women's influence in the social sphere with the realization of the industrial revolution did not prevent the woman from being placed in a secondary position. The feminist movement, which advocates the denied rights of women in male-dominated societies, fills an intellectually important gap in the social sphere. On the other hand, the common goal of the feminist movements that come together to prevent women from being pushed to the second plan within the social structure is to restore the honor and pride of the oppressed woman. Especially, even though the different feminist movements that emerged after the industrial revolution tried different ways in terms of practice and method, the goal they wanted to reach was to carry the power of the woman to the public sphere with her hand. This research focuses on women's participation in the public sphere as well as their private sphere, and examines the role of women in society in the context of feminist theories with historical and contemporary headings.
A STUDY ON " FEMINIST FOR FEMINISM; ANY HOPE FOR WOMEN? "
This study focuses on the image of women depicted in select works. In doing this, efforts will be channelled towards expatiating certain salient issues the writers have brought to light. Thus, this research takes a preview at women as inferior beings, and finally takes a closer look at women’s struggle for self-liberation in Patriarchal society as portrayed in three works of art namely A Vindication of the Right of Women (Mary Wollstonecraft), Second Class Citizen (Buchi Emecheta), and The Old Playhouse (Kamala Das). In short, copious textual passages have been presented and critically analysed in order to explain the ideas and views being reconnoitred in this research study.
Suppresion of women in modern society – socio-economic aspects
СОЦИОЛОШКИ ДИСКУРС
Along with creating the conditions for progress and emancipation of womenin society, they developed the instruments and methods of preventing theexercise of these conditions. Although it is evident legally equating womenwith men in all spheres of life in modern society there are various forms ofself-suppression of women (psychological, economic, cultural, acceptance ofwomen “without rebellion” of values and rules that are set by men and thelike.). Th e increasing presence of women in the public sphere, their subjugation, discrimination and subordination are moved from private to publicsphere - (in) ability to access public services, employment, wage levels andthe like. Th e causes of this suppression are, usually, in the character of socialrelations - are still rooted in the patriarchal patterns - the imposition of“masculine” principles and rules of everyday life which suppress women fromimportant segments of social relations.
Women in the Turn of Contemporary Social Change
Economy Business, 2014
Modern, truly civilized society is more and more conscious of the roll and significance of women for the total social development and its changes and it gives them, in the broadest sense of social conduct, more and more possibilities to manifest their work, intellectual, organizational, and other values. It is also confirmed from the level of their political, economic (entrepreneurial), management, and social conduct which differentiate in many cultural environments, depending on the country, the orientation towards political parties, triteness of the local community, defining the position within the organization, modernity of the family, and real possibility of interpreting those values. Similarly, it is clear that, in principle, there are still many obstacles, antagonisms, prejudices and suspicions that hinder women in their overall social engagement, often consciously or less consciously (traditionally) rated, which ultimately has still resulted in social delay in terms of accelerating the pace of changing business policies, economic conditionality, entrepreneurial restraint, disadvantage and inequality based on gender differences, as well as exaggerated one-dimensionality and calibration of all segments of society development on the basis of the male orientation and their perception of the needs and solving social priorities.
Research on humanities and social sciences, 2018
In the order of relationships involving the whole of society's potential and elements, it is not the physical and non-physical involvement of the human individuals as supporters of the formation of society, but to nurture, develop, and exploit all these potentials and elements for the assurance of human life , namely the well-being and happiness together. Thus, the meaning of the balance of rights and duties as the nature or form of togetherness and the crystallization of the will, is actually the regularity of the relationships that occur within the society itself. Such thinking or understanding is a social-society study that deals with human problems and the struggles of life in an environment of mutual influence, for the efforts to maintain and develop its life. Based on these circumstances, some of the women give a transparent appreciation through organizations that have a purpose to conduct a review of gender equality issues in order to know and understand the issues in que...
Effects of Feminism on Gender Equality
CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research - Zenodo, 2020
"A Feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full of humanity of women and men" Feminism has been a part of our life since the 18 th century, either directly or indirectly. Women have always faced issues of inequality and dominance for a very long time. And this inequality and injustice led to Feminist movements. We had the first wave of feminism during the 18 th century after which we had the second and the third waves. We are currently witnessing the fourth wave. Each wave had different issues which were tackled. But in the modern days feminism has gotten a bad name, which can attributed because of various reasons such as the unawareness of the term feminism and what it actually stands for. In our research paper we have looked into the idea that whether people are aware about the term feminism in its correct definition or there is a different idea and what can be done to promote feminism in a positive way.
The Theory of Feminism: Definition and Development
2010
During the last century, critics have felt the impact of feminist criticism which has flourished the field of literature by its combination with every other critical approach. So, this study aims at exploring the revision of the history of female experience with the great imaginative creation of Shakespeare and by female spectators, but before proceeding and as feminism begins with political agenda, it is worthier to cast lights on the development of feminism theoretically and practically so that the depiction can get a conspicuous framework and better understanding. Simply speaking, the term “feminism” is derived from the word “feminine” which is the opposite of the “masculine” that is, female versus male. Feminism, as a modern phenomenon, sails its way from the school of political reading of 1970s to reach the beach of criticism and to dig up the depths of the self; it can be defined as “the doctrine that favors more rights and activities for women in their economic, social, polit...
This article provides information on the adoption of international legal instruments, conventions and pacts to protect women. Women, who make up about half of the world's population, are an important driving force in society. They are now active in almost every aspect of the state and society. It should be noted that women are becoming specialists in their field, no matter what direction they work. The article also analyzes the views of the founders, Western and Eastern scholars on the role and importance of women in society. In order to study the feminism movement in more depth, it is analyzed in two parts, namely, secular and Islamic feminism. In fact, the only goal is to see in detail the fact that the two currents of feminism, which envisage freedom and equality, move in specific directions, based on certain sources and principles. In the course of its implementation, the mutually similar aspects of secular and Islamic feminism, as well as their mutually exclusive, different aspects, were highlighted. The article concludes with what the feminism movement has given to women around the world, the importance of reforms, the shortcomings and solutions available.
