The study evaluates the content of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) library websites using qualitative (11 checkpoints) and quantitative (170 checkpoints) evaluation. The qualitative parts covered 11 features which belong to the homepages of the websites, which helps as recording devices of the descriptive information, moreover, quantitative part of the checklists covered 170 dichotomous question affiliated to the different aspect of the features such as; multimedia, general information, services, resources, my library features, web2.0/library2.0 features, currency accuracy and relevance, organization and structure features, links and maintenance features, user-interface features, search features and informative feedback and support features. A Systematic Analysis of State Agricultural University Library Web Pages In India-An Evaluation

This study concentrates on the content analysis of library websites of Agricultural University libraries in India. 63 Agricultural University library websites were examined in this study. The study mainly focused on the general information available in the library websites, sections in the library, online library services, links to electronic information resources, and OPAC. Based upon the literature, survey objectives were designed, and the investigator identified the list of Agricultural University library websites and based on the predetermined criteria, the content of the Agricultural University library websites was evaluated. The same has been analyzed and presented with useful percentage analysis.

Good content distinguish the website from the search engines as it delivers the right information to satisfy the user information need. The success of website is determined primarily by its content. In this electronic era, websites have become the popular source for communication. Libraries are no exception when it comes to providing the right information at the right time to the right person without any technological barriers. In this study, three webometric techniques have been used to evaluate Delhi University Library Website. These techniques include Web Indicators, Web Analyzer Test Score and Web Impact Factors. Nearly 57 percent of essential indicators were found missing in this website. It has obtained highest score in Information Block i.e. 65 percent and lowest score in Resource Block i.e. 21.42 percent. Seven web analyzers tests score zero these are Twitter, Headings, Facebook, Analytics, Printability, Broken Links and W3C compliance. The results of the study will be beneficial for the librarians for evaluating their library websites. The study has also provided some suggestions how to improve the quality of the library websites. The study concluded that Library Websites play a crucial role in the institution growth therefore there is a need of an hour to raise the quality of these websites by applying various evaluating techniques on them.

The present study aims to evaluate and analyse the web contents of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) library website/web pages. Survey and observation method was used to collect the primary data from the respective library websites of19 IITs library websites/web pages where 128 criteria have been designed and data were collected during the month of November, 2016 that was further verified between the periods of 1 st March-15 th March, 2017.The study reveals, only four IITs have a library webpage and one has a dedicated page for library. And very less IIT library website/web page have provided the information about the collections, services, value-added services, and Web 2.0 tools link. The evaluation of the websites will help to upgrade the IITs library website which will be useful for other institutions too.

Abstract: Present paper is the study of content available in agricultural University Library websites of Gujarat state. The study reveals that 100% of agricultural university library websites provided information About Institutions, Library Timing, Contact, Copyright, Visitors, Books, E-Resources, E-Library, and about 80% of agricultural universities provided information about Location, About library, News and Events, Media gallery, Publication, Site search Journal, Dissertation, Back Volume, New Arrival, and Internet , it is found from the study that 1 Average of agricultural university libraries subscribing e-journals, e-books, and e-databases, X2 Value (15.42797,P=0.973555) and 60% of agricultural universities Provided Face book and YouTube facilities. Ranking of Library Websites of Agricultural University of India: A Study

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to derive the current status of web contents of library websites of Agricultural Universities in India and to examine the web-based library services provided via their websites and to determine the rank of the library websites on the basis of content analysis. Design/ Methodology/ Approach: For data collection in this study, survey and observation methods were applied. Data are collected from the library websites of Agricultural Universities of India with the help of a checklist prepared on the basis of previous studies done. Findings: The findings show that most of the surveyed libraries have up-to-date library websites or webpages with the information of adequate services and facilities. Most of the library websites provide access to e-resources and provide remote access to their resources.

Library websites play an essential role in collecting and sharing information or sources for users. Today it is a common platform to interact with users without their behavior. A website survey certainly helps us to identify and analyse available content to obtain rich and suitable information by evaluating the current website's improvement. The present study evaluates the contents of the nine central university library websites of the North East India. A checklist has been developed to collect library facilities, library collections, university webpage accessibility, link searches, and the retrieval interface. The purpose of this article is to help website developers, and administrators better understand the current state of these university websites so that they may provide more informative, up-to-date information, authentic information, user-friendly, and dynamic methods to users based on their needs.

Library Website is considered as one of the most substantial tools to publish and disseminate the information of several activities such as mission vision, library notice, rules and regulations, new arrival, library facilities, e-resources, and services, etc. The present study is based on the information available on the Animal Sciences University Library Websites/Webpage of India. A checklist method was used for content assessment based on an earlier study conducted by several professionals on this particular topic. The findings result of the present study presented that Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Hisar website has to have highest speed and performance of PageSpeed Insights on Desktop (95) whereas, Maharastra Animal & Fisheries. Sciences University, Nagpur website scores highest performance (84) on mobile among universities. Alexa Traffic Rank shows that Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Bikaner was secured on the top with 3,58,832 global ranks whereas Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Hisar is holding on the first position with 41,590 Indian ranks. It was revealed that Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna 36 (55.38%) scores the highest number followed by Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar 35 (53.84%) among the Animal Sciences University Websites/Webpages are taken for the study. Further, it is found that Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Hisar and Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Bikaner did not get up to the mark of the total score which further falls under the category “Needs Improvement” and secured the position seven and eight.
Content Analysis of Central University Library Websites of South India

This study is to evaluate the status of the library websites of central universities of south India. A checklist of various elements has been used to gather the data and evaluate contents of selected library webpage. The domain name of host website, general information about the library, collection details, information on e-resources, Link search and retrieval interfaces and innovative services adopted are the major elements considered to evaluate the websites. However, it is found that contents are varying in every library website. It is essential to make library website become dynamic and effective.
Evaluation of library web presence of technical colleges of West Bengal through content analysis
Website of an academic institute can be considered as the face of institute in modern days. Library being the main pillar in supporting the teaching learning of academic institute it should be given its due importance. Keeping that in view this paper tries to find out the presence of libraries in the website of respective colleges under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal. Based on the literature review of the studies done on this subject area, 41criteria under 8 broad headings were selected to analyze the content of the Web Pages. A web based exhaustive study of the selected websites of the colleges was done. The collected data was then analyzed using Microsoft excel. From the observation, it is found that the libraries of colleges under MAKAUT have minimal representation in their parent websites. Based on the findings some suggestions have been made for the improvement of the library Web Page. Focusing on web appearance, a lot of work needs to be done. The problem can't be resolved without a change in attitude about the role of library and information science in higher education. Library professionals of those institutes should come forward to change the scenario and take their libraries to the next level.
