Catechesis or Religious Education is the act or process of teaching the faith to make the Gospel of Jesus be known to all people. As the Lord commissioned the apostles during the mission mandate to "go and proclaim the good news to all nations and baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit", it clearly shows the very vital role and mission of the Church to evangelize and make disciples of Christ. With this great responsibility, the Church, through the help of the Catholic schools, must proclaim the Christian faith to all, not only the Catholics and Christians, but to all people, regardless of faith and culture. The message of Christ's teaching is rooted in love, which is common among all religions and beliefs. In celebrating this Year of Ecumenism, Interreligious dialogue and Indigenous cultures, the researcher conducted a study and tried to find out the impact or effect of catechesis or religious education to the students of the University of Santo Tomas Senior High School who are non-Catholics and non-Christians in their faith life. The respondents of this study are the students from the Grade 12 level under the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand. Moreover, the researcher used the "mixed method" of descriptive method through survey questionnaires in order to gather and analyze data. The results of the study would be a great help for catechists and religious educators to know if there is an outcome or impact in teaching the Christian faith to people who have different faiths and culture. At the end, this research would also suggest some ways in order to make catechesis more effective, holistic and inclusive in nurturing one's relationship with God and promote dialogue, harmony and understanding among different faiths especially for the strengthening of the mission of Catholic Schools to make known and echo the message of Jesus.

Importance of Spirituality for Religion and Religious Experience Students: A General Perspective
International Journal for Research Trends in Social Science & Humanities, 2024
When we talk about spirituality, a conventional way of thinking is the connecstion to religion, which is why this paper will give an insight into the common definition of spirituality from various perspectives until its meaning is based on the conviction of Catholic Faith and the teachings of Jesus in the Gospel. Discussions on Spiritual Development have been overlooked in secular educational settings even though spirituality plays a pivotal role in shaping students' personal, emotional, and social well-being. This research will analyze the effects of Spiritual development and its contribution to the holistic development of students by developing a sense of connection to the divine and others. They are searching for meaning in life that leads them to personal and communal prayer and worship as well as the enforcement of their values to act accordingly. This research also explores how education, in general, plays a crucial role in developing one's spirituality, especially in public school settings that have no institutionalized religion, such as theology classes, compared with private Catholic schools.

The education sector is one of the highly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Philippines, various measures have been initiated to implement social isolation strategies, and online teaching is followed with rapid curriculum transformation. This study was conducted at a Seminary School in the Philippines to assess the spiritual formation activities, challenges and coping mechanisms based on the lived experiences of Senior High Seminarians. The study is a qualitative design using descriptive phenomenology as methodology. Data were gathered using a researcher-made interview schedule and questionnaire for the focus group discussion (FGD). Ten senior High School seminarians were chosen through purposive sampling. The result shows that most seminarians attended the Mass and praying novena and holy rosary as part of their spiritual formation activities. However, they spent their time playing online mobile games and are addicted to social media, leading them to lack focus and motivation. Seminarians resort to prayer, self-disciplining through avoidance or limitation in using gadgets and social media, and effective and proper to cope with these challenges. It is recommended that the seminary conduct capacity building on how to combat challenges seminarians face and provide a venue for open discussion and feedback so they may have the chance to voice their sentiments and concerns.

This paper reports on the first stage of a wider research project investigating the influences on the spiritual development of children within a Catholic parish context, as perceived by Catholic parish personnel who have assumed this responsibility. Eight participants who held religious leadership positions within a parish environment met as a focus group and derived six domains considered to be key influences on a child’s spiritual formation. A subsequent focus group comprising 37 adult participants who held a direct spiritual educative/formative role with children discussed these six key areas of influence, and then individually ranked and weighted them in terms of considered importance. Findings indicated variation among the clusters of domains describing the influences of family, peers and school, relationship with God, and one’s use of time. The influence of information technology was found to be distinct from all other domains. Further research based on these findings is warra...

Proceedings of the 6th Batusangkar International Conference, BIC 2021, 11 - 12 October, 2021, Batusangkar-West Sumatra, Indonesia, 2022
The church has a responsibility to humans (congregation) spiritually and physically. Ideally, the church is an educational center for the community because the church teaches, fosters, and assists the assembly from birth to the elderly (from children to the elderly). This discussion provides an understanding that Christian religious education in the church is the center of education for the congregation. This study uses a literature review method, namely the data obtained from theories in various journals and books related to this discussion. This study aims to provide an understanding and awareness to the church that the church in carrying out its role is not just lecturing on Sundays. Still, there must be a program that must be implemented to form the congregation spiritually and physically. The church teaches, educates, and accompanies the congregation for spiritual life; it is also crucial for physical energy.

This study examined the religiosity and spiritual well-being of Catholic senior high school students of a rural Catholic school. Using the descriptive-comparative and correlational research design, data collection involved the survey questionnaires and hypotheses-testing used the Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis, and Pearson r. In general, the students demonstrated a very high extent of religiosity, but they significantly differ when compared by grade level, church involvement, mass attendance, and Catholic identity. They had moderate spiritual well-being, but a significant difference was noted between males and females. Nevertheless, a significant relationship exists between religiosity and spiritual wellbeing, which suggests that the more the students observe Catholic teachings and practices, the more they mature in God's personal experience and achieve a sense of satisfaction and purpose in life. This study provides baseline data for developing the religious education curriculum and enhancing the campus ministry programs and activities of the said school.
