A Comparative Study of Personality Characterstics Of Students belonging to ICSE and Uttarakhand Board

Present study examine and compare the Personality Characteristics of the Adolescents belonging to ICSE Board and Uttarakhand Board. The study was conducted on 124 Adolescent students(62 from ICSE Board and 62 from Uttarakhand Board).Students were administered the 16 PF questionnaire by S.D.Kapoor to collect the data . Results show that there was a significant difference between Adolescent male belonging to ICSE Board and Uttarakhand Board on Factor B,F,I,Q1 and Q4 ,which shows that male adolescents belonging to ICSE Board are found to have been more intelligent ,sober, tough-minded ,self assured and relaxed whereas male adolescents belonging to Uttarakhand Board found to have been less intelligent, assertive, enthusiastic, tender-minded, apprehensive and more tense. Female adolescents of ICSE and Uttarakhand Board differ on factors C,D,E,O,Q3,Q4 , Which shows that Female adolescents belonging to ICSE Board have been found emotionally stable ,assertive, adventurous, self –assured, controlled and relaxed while female adolescents belonging to Uttarakhand Board found to be affected by feelings, undemonstrative, obedient, shy, apprehensive, controlled and tense.

Influence of Type A and Type B Personality on Academic Achievement of University Students

Several factors directly or indirectly influence academic achievement of students. There is immense variation in students’ academic achievement due to individual differences. Therefore, every individual has different personality characteristics that influence life, especially students’ academic achievement. Thus, the current study investigates the influence of personality types A and B on academic achievement of university students. This study presents a descriptive design. Furthermore, a random sampling technique was used for the sample selection. The Anjum-Khalique Scale and students’ GPAs were utilized as research tools. Correlation, regression and t-test were employed for data analysis. Findings exposed that personality types A and B have overall significant impact on academic achievement of students. Personality among Higher Secondary School Students

The present study aimed to know the personality among higher secondary school students. It also aimed to check personality with reference to gender and type of residency. The Introvert -Extrovert Personality Inventory (IEPI) by Dr. Ashwin Jansari (2013) was used. The sample constituted total 120 higher secondary school students out of which 60 were from boys students (30 urban area and 30 rural area) and 60 from girl students (30 urban area and 30 rural area). The data was collected from Patan City. The data was scored, analyzed as per the manual. 'F' test was being calculated. The result showed that (1) There is no significant difference in the mean score of personality among the boys and girls higher secondary school students.

Relationship between Students’ Personality Traits and their Academic Achievement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

Theoretical framework of this study based on Big Five Personality Trait Theory (Cattell's & Eysenck's 1973). Objectives of the study were: i) to find out different personality traits (as described in five factor theory) of secondary school students. ii) to identify the relationship between students different personality traits and their academic achievement iii) to give recommendations to improve the situation and for further research. Descriptive survey design was used for this study. All the secondary school students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan constituted population of the study. Out of 25 districts 2 districts were randomly selected (Bannu & Lakki Marwat). Out of 12009 students who were studying in the secondary schools of these districts 800 students of 10 th class were selected through multistage random sampling method using proportional allocation technique as a sample of the study. A self developed questionnaire was used as a research instrument. Personally collected data was entered in SPSS-16. Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation and Pearson Product Moment Correlation were applied as statistical test to achieve the objectives of the study. Results of the study revealed that "conscientiousness" and "agreeableness" personality traits were found high while "extroversion", "neuroticism" and "openness to experience" personality traits were found low in secondary school students. Overall there was no significant relationship found between the students' personality traits and their academic achievement. The researcher recommended that students having contentiousness personality trait can produce better result in Maths and Islamic Education subjects. So the students having contentiousness personality trait should take Maths and Islamic Education as optional subjects to produce better result. Students having agreeableness personality trait can produce better result in English, Islamiyat Compulsory, Chemistry and Islamic Education subjects. So the students having agreeableness personality trait should take English, Islamiyat Compulsory, Chemistry and Islamic Education as optional subject to produce better results. Seminars/workshop may be arranged for students and teacher about personality traits and their impact on students' academic achievement.

Study of Personality among College Students

The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of gender and area on personality. The sample consisted of 300 students, 150 male and 150 female students are selected from different colleges in Amreli district. By using big five inventory (BFI) constructed by John, Donahue and Kentlain (1991), data was collected and " t " test was used for analysis of the scores. Results show that there is no difference between male and female students and their extraversion and neuroticism factors of personality. No significant difference between rural and urban students and their extraversion and neuroticism personality factors.

Type A and Type B Personality in Undergraduate Medical Student: Need of Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Objectives: To find out the frequency of Type A and Type B personality among the students of Undergraduate Medical College. To find association between student year and personality type. Methods: A descriptive cross sectional study was conducted at Undergraduate Medical College, Rawalpindi from Sept. 2012 till Feb. 2013. Among 500 sample size, 100 students from each MBBS year were inducted by probability systematic sampling technique. After taking consent from the institute and students, data was collected on BECK anxiety inventory (BAI) questionnaire. According to BAI scale, students were identified as Type A or B personality. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 20. To find association between student year and personality type, Chi-square test of significance with 95% confidence level was used. Results: First, second, third, fourth and final year students had 5 (1%), 6 (1.2%), 11 (2.2%), (13 (2.6%) and 19 (3.8%) type A personality respectively. Among all the study participants (n=500), total number of type A was 54 (10.8%) and type B personality students were 446 (89.2%). Type A personality was 29 (11.6%) in female students (n=250) and 25 (10%) in male students (n=250). Association between student year and personality type was significant (p=0.010) at 95% confidence level. Conclusion: Type A personality students existed in every class and there was a gradual increase in the number of type A personality students from 1st year to final year in an undergraduate medical college of Rawalpindi. Significant association was observed in student year and type A personality.

A Study of Personality Types Towards Students’ Mental Health

Mental health illnesses can impair academic performance and social connections, both of which are crucial to a student's success. However, personality type also plays a crucial influence in mental health problems. This study intends to investigate personality types, mental health, the relationship between personality types and mental health, and gender variations in personality types and mental health among undergraduate students at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). This study is a survey-based quantitative research. According to Krejcie and Morgan's (1970) table, this study's total sample size is 248. Systematic sampling was used as a sampling technique to choose participants. For data collection, Truity Test and Goldberg's General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) were adapted. The respondents were given a Likert scale questionnaire with 55 questions. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26.0 was utilized to analyze the data. According to this study's findings, undergraduates have a high level of consciousness personality type (S.D. =.65090) and agreeableness personality type (S.D. =.62137). Undergraduates mental health falls under the category of social dysfunction (S.D. =.59537).

A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON PERSONALITY TRAITS OF MALE AND FEMALE STUDENTS STUDYING BACHELOR OF EDUCATION COURSE.

A trait is a stable quality of behaviour. Describing personality in terms of traits is better than describing it in any other means. Teachers are known as social engineers and they are an inseparable organ of a school. He plays in significant role in modifying child's behaviour. Teacher's own personality which includes his attitudes affected the behaviour pattern of children. In the simplest sense by trait we mean a mode of behaviour which is manifested in a number of life situations consistently. Trait may be defined as, ''a property within the individual that accounts for his unique but relatively stable reactions to environment''.

Personality characteristics of higher secondary school students

The purpose of this study was to investigate the personality characteristics of higher secondary school students and to compare them on gender and locality. For achieving the stipulated objectives of the study the descriptive method of research was employed. 100 higher secondary school students studying in 12th class (50 rural, 25 boys & 25 girls and 50 urban, 25 boys & 25 girls) were selected from different two higher secondary schools through the purposive sampling technique. The main tool for the employed for the purpose of data collection was R.B. Cattle's 16 Personality Factor Questionnaire (Form A). The date was analyzed by applying Mean, S.D and t-test for testing the significance of mean difference between the boys & girls and rural & urban higher secondary school students.
