Video Steganography and Security Cryptography

Today's world is growing rapidly over internet technologies. Steganography play an important role in the field of information security [1]. Video and images are very common choice for hiding data. In Visual cryptography we upload an image and embed encrypted data into color component using LSB audio steganography .The advantage of video cryptography is that, large amount of data can be hidden inside and the fact that it is a moving stream of images [2]. The data security approach when combined with encryption and steganography techniques for secret communication by hiding it inside the multimedia file. The data is hidden in horizontal and vertical components of the moving objects. The file such as images, audios and videos contains collection of bits that can further be translated into images, audios and videos. The file composed of insignificant bit and unused areas which can be used for overwriting of other data. This paper explains the algorithm using video steganography for enhancing data security. Key frame extraction technique is new in video steganography and is used.

Enhancement of Data Security using Video Steganography

Steganography is an approach used to transfer secret information by updating data carrying medium i.e video, audio, text file in an imperceptible manner and is a manner of masking secret data in ways that prevents revealing of hidden messages. By using steganography secure data transmission over internet could be achieved. Video files are generally a batch of still images. So, most of the techniques used for images and audio can also be applied in video steganography. The main advantage of video stream is amount of data they carry that cannot be easily detectable. Above all, it is a moving sequence of still pictures. The internet provides a method of communication to distribute information to the masses. With the growth of data communication over computer network, the security of information has become a major issue. Steganography and cryptography are two different data hiding techniques. Cryptography, on the other hand obscures the content of the message. In this research work a high capacity data embedding approach is developed by the combining two approaches LSB and DWT.

Improved Secure Data Transfer Using Video Steganographic Technique

Information security using data hiding in video provides high embedding capacity and security. Steganography is one of the oldest data protecting methodologies deals with the embedding of data. Video Steganography hides secret information file within a video. Present day communications are treated to be “un-trusted” in terms of security, i.e. they are relatively easy to be hacked. The proposed technique is invented to hide secret information into a video file keeping two considerations in mind which are size and security of the cover video file. At the sender side, the secret information which is to be hidden is encoded into cover video file. Double layered security for the secret data can be achieved by encrypting confidential information and by embedding confidential information into cover video file frames using encrypted embedding technique.

A novel approach to secure video steganography

The rapid development of data communication in modern era demands secure exchange of information. Steganography is the technique of data hiding. Thus, a video steganography means hiding of data inside a video file. Existing systems work on the LSB technique and has a defined format in which data is stored and can be easily guessed by the intruder. The proposed method is based on Pixel Value Extraction of RGB model which uses Bit insertion technique to insert the text within the Video file. Usually, the hackers focus on LSB bits for secret data extraction but the proposed technique utilizes the MSB bits that make it more secure from unauthorized access. This system focuses on the data security approach when combined with encryption and steganographic techniques for secret communication by hiding it inside the video.

VIDEO STEGANOGRAPHY USING LSB ALGORITHM FOR SECURITY APPLICATION

The project proposes the enhancement of security system for secret data communication through video file using adaptive data hiding with cryptographic technique. A given input video file is converted into frame sequences and then Encrypted the video using Chaos Encryption algorithm. And one of frame will be selected to conceal the secret data for secured data communication. The proposed technique also uses RC7 Encryption for encrypting a secret text data into cipher text to avoid data hacking issues. After data encryption, the data hider will conceal the secret encrypted data into the selected frame using adaptive LSB embedding algorithm. Although encryption achieves certain security effects, they make the secret messages unreadable and unnatural or meaningless. These unnatural messages usually attract some unintended observers’ attention. The data hiding technique uses the adaptive LSB replacement algorithm for concealing the secret message bits into the image. In the data extraction module, the secret data will be extracted by using relevant key for choosing the pixel coefficients and it will be decrypted to get original data using encryption key. Finally the performance of this proposal in data encryption and hiding will be analysed based on image and data recovery.

Secured Data Transmission Using Video Steganographic Scheme

Steganography is the art of hiding information in ways that avert the revealing of hiding messages. Video Steganography is focused on spatial and transform domain. Spatial domain algorithm directly embedded information in the cover image with no visual changes. This kind of algorithms has the advantage in Steganography capacity, but the disadvantage is weak robustness. Transform domain algorithm is embedding the secret information in the transform space. This kind of algorithms has the advantage of good stability, but the disadvantage of small capacity. These kinds of algorithms are vulnerable to steganalysis. This paper proposes a new Compressed Video Steganographic scheme. The data is hidden in the horizontal and the vertical components of the motion vectors. The PSNR value is calculated so that the quality of the video after the data hiding is evaluated.
