This research explores the role of public libraries as vital infrastructures for a sustainable public sphere, underpinned by a thorough literature review. The study examines how library research topics have evolved, identifies key challenges such as social inclusion and digital inequalities, and investigates the impact of social media on libraries. Findings reveal four key themes: the significance of libraries in fostering democracy through public discourse, their role in promoting social inclusion, and the implications of new technologies for public library services.
