Dislocation distributions in two dimensions (original) (raw)
This study investigates the spatial distribution and pattern formation of dislocations in deformed metals using a molecular dynamics simulation approach. It highlights the importance of dislocation-dislocation interactions, particularly the long-range elastic interactions, and provides insights into the sensitivity of dislocation patterns to various deformation conditions. The results emphasize the unphysical consequences of truncating interaction distances in simulations, and propose future research directions focusing on the effects of applied stress and temperature on dislocation structures.
