China, under the leadership of Xi Jinping, is attempting to reshape the liberal international order. “Xi Jinping Thought” guides China’s national revival: focusing on internal economics, foreign policy, governance, and military. While there is no shortage of articles about China’s role globally, this study adds to the literature analyzing how China will use “Xi Jinping Thought” guiding principles to become the Asia Pacific regional hegemon and reshape the global order. This study will provide more precise insight into China’s global ambition by directly linking President Xi's words and China’s global actions since 2012. This paper draws on the balance of power theory to analyze “Xi Jinping Thought,” revealing how President Xi is seeking to increase China’s influence globally compared to past leaders. This paper draws on global governance and psychology theories to analyze “Xi Jinping Thought,” revealing how President Xi is seeking to increase China’s influence globally. The author employs theories focusing on personality and intergroup conflict and cooperation at the state and individual level to analyze President Xi’s action during power. This article explains the consolidation of domestic powers for the “New China era” (Greer 2019), which argues that President Xi is seeking for China to become regional hegemony for the Asia Pacific Region. This effort is further demonstrated through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) that aims to reshape world order through integration, persuasiveness, and equity. “Xi Jinping Thought” strives to elevate China’s power above the United States in the new world order.
