Constraints Faced by the Users and Non-Users of Kisan Credit Card Scheme in Deoghar District of Jharkhand

Lack of access to finance is a key impediment to farmers in improving the efficiency of their productions and adopting better technologies. Credit not only plays a pivotal role in not only increasing agricultural production but also in improving the standard of living especially for farmers. Hence the present study was undertaken to find out the constraint encountered by the users and reasons of non adoption by non users of Kisan Credit Card scheme. The present study was conducted in Deoghar block of Deoghar district in Jharkhand. Purposive sampling was followed for the selection of one hundred and twenty respondents, dividing them into two groups of the users and non users of KCC Scheme. Pre-structured interview schedule was used to collect the data, collected data were converted in a tabular form to draw conclusion. Awareness of kisan credit card holders and non holders about KCC scheme in Bikaner district of Rajasthan

The Kisan Credit Card used for the short term credit requirements for cultivation of crops, consumption requirements of farmer household, working capital for maintenance of farm assets and of activities allied agriculture like dairy animals, inland fishery and investment credit requirement for agriculture and allied activities like pump sets, sprayers, dairy animals etc. The present investigation was conducted in Bikaner Tehsil of Bikaner district of Rajasthan. Due to its maximum uses. One hundred fifty farmers (75 KCC holders and 75 Non-KCC holders) were selected from ten villages through probability proportionate procedure (in case of KCC holders, similar number of Non-KCC holders from each village). Data were collected by pre tested interview schedule. KCC holders and Non-KCC holders were highly aware of about "defaulter" with 73.11 and 18.44 MPS respectively. The farmers of both KCC and Non-KCC holders the groups were highly aware of defaulter, repaying, registration prerequisities with respective MPS of 45.78, 39.44 and 33.61. To arrive at specific inferences, various statistical measures viz., 'z' test't' test and Spearman's rank correlation test were used. Among four categories of Awareness, defaulter were perceived with highest intensity followed by registration, loaning, repaying, purpose of credit.

A Study on Impact of Kisan Credit Card Scheme among the Beneficiary Farmers in Sehore District of Madhya Pradesh

The government of India has been launching several schemes for the rural and urban area of the country. But the evaluation or assessment of these schemes is crucial to know the impact among the beneficiaries. The study was conducted in Ashta block of Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh. Due to impact of short term crop loan, highest increase in yield was with wheat crop which amounted to 82.37 per cent. The highest percentage of magnitude of increased income (75.28%) was for wheat crop followed by 68.78 and 46.75 per cent respectively for gram and arhar respectively.

UTILIZATION PATTERN OF KISAN CREDIT CARD (KCC) AMONG TRIBAL FARMERS IN SIDHI DISTRICT (M.P

The Kisan Credit Card scheme introduced in the year 1998 with the objective of fulfillment of credit requirement of the farmers in hassle-free manner for raising agricultural production. There has been tremendous increase in number of Kisan Credit Cards in the rural areas during the last five years. Keeping the importance of KCC, the present study was an attempt to assess utility of KCC as perceived by the tribal farmers. The present investigation was carried out in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh state with a sample of 120 tribal farmers. The study revealed that the utilization of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) by the respondents was observed as maximum in the aspect i.e. increase in agricultural produce followed by increase in income, crop production activities, utilization of credit for vegetable production & allied activities and duration of utilizing credit. it was also found that Utilization of KCC was considerable low in the respect of the components as utilization for crop insurance, change in cropping pattern and diversified farming.The study suggests that Contingent planning for adverse climatic condition should be communicated to tribal farmers well in advance. With a view to enhance the adoption of improved crop production technologies among the tribal farmers awareness and training programmes should be conducted in the regard.

A Study on the Utilization Pattern and Adequacy of Kisan Credit Card among the Farmers of Sirsa District

The present study is based on a random sample of 180 farmers consisting of 90 KCC beneficiary and 90 non-KCC beneficiary farmers by selecting three bank branches of Punjab national bank, Regional rural bank and Cooperative bank one from each have been selected from Sirsa, Dabwali and Rania blocks of Sirsa district, respectively. The primary data were collected for the year 2014-15. This study aims to analyse the utilization pattern and adequacy of credit provided through KCC by the beneficiary farmers in Sirsa district. For examining the utilization pattern Simple percentage method was used while to examine adequacy of credit amount sanctioned under KCC scheme both method average and percentage were computed to draw meaningful inferences. Impact of Kisan credit card on farm productivity and farmer's economy in Odisha: An empirical evaluation

Kisan Credit Card Scheme (KCC) was initiated in August 1998 by NABARD. At present it is implemented by three organizations namely commercial banks, cooperative banks and regional rural banks. KCC is a form of revolving cash credit facility that enables farmers to withdraw and repay funds to meet their various credit requirements. The KCC is helpful in strengthening relationship between financial institutions and agricultural producers. The sanctioned amount under KCC was increased from Rs 8582.00 crores in 2008-09 to Rs 501192.00 crores up to march 2023 in the country. In Odisha presently about 96.76 lakh KCC have been issued with sanctioned amount of Rs 446.89 crores by cooperatives, commercial banks and regional rural banks. Though in Odisha there are 78,60,651 registered farmers as per agricultural action plan 2019-20 and out of it only 31,56,838 farmers (40.16%) were issued KCC across the state since its inception. Since inception to till date, many farmers were benefited from the scheme and it is the time to access the impact on farmers in Odisha. In this background present paper constructed with broad objectives i.e. to access the extent of KCC fund utilized by the respondent and to evaluate the socioeconomic impacts of KCC scheme in the sampled areas. A total of 160 (comprising 80 from KCC beneficiaries and 80 from Non KCC) households selected through stratified random sampling technique formed the sampled size. The data were collected through a well-structured questionnaire during the year 2021-2022.The study finds that KCC beneficiaries were more advantageous position in way of leaving, use of modernize agriculture, avail good education, health, service in tertiary sector with compared to non KCC beneficiaries. Lead banks of the districts may give emphasis on popularization, motivation and adoption of the scheme by a large number of farmers in sampled areas to increase farm productivity, farmers income and socioeconomic condition.

An Analytical Study of Development of KCC (Kisan Credit Card) Scheme in India

In the present time the government provides assistance through various types of schemes to improve the economic condition of the farmers and to increase their production and change standard of living and for agriculture development. Farmers are provided with many types of loan. In which Kisan credit card scheme is also an important role. Kisan credit scheme was started by union finance minister Shri Yashwant Sinha on 1 st june1998. At the same time there is also need to analysis its development so that it can be known that how much amount this scheme is providing to farmers through Kisan credit card, the motive of the study, the duration-wise and institution-wise development have been studied. The data has been taken from the year 2017 to 2021. The development has been calculated by coefficient of variance, mean and exponential growth rate and presented in the form of tables. The analysis of the above study shows that there has been a steady increase in the number of cards issued year-wise under this scheme, the progress which lies in terms of the number and amount of card issued by the institutions and the period of the study commercial banks are ahead of cooperative banks and regional rural banks during the period.

Performance of Kisan Credit Card in Himachal Pradesh: An Empirical Evaluation

Government of India introduced the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme in the year 1998-99 to provide timely and adequate credit support to the farmers from formal banking system in a flexible, hassle-free and cost-effective manner. This scheme has facilitated the availability of credit in time and has simplified the procedure for availing loan from banks to a large extent. From the year 1998-99, the scheme has implemented by public sector commercial banks, RRBs (Regional Rural Banks) and cooperative banks in the country. It has emerged as a revolutionary credit distribution system to meet the credit requirements of the farmers in a timely and easy manner. The present paper is aimed to study the " performance of Kisan Credit Card in Himachal Pradesh: An Empirical Evaluation. " The study is empirical in nature and primary as well as secondary data have been used to achieve the objectives of the study. The information regarding the perception of beneficiaries of KCC Scheme has been collected through schedule. In order to examine the perception of beneficiaries towards the credit scenario through KCC, Percentage, Mean, standard deviation, variance and standard error of Skewness have been applied.
