Electricity has attained a very important place in every household on this planet. It is a major contributor towards improvement of the standard of living of any individual, family and society at large. The consumer habits constitute an important factor in deciding the electricity consumption. Also, it will help in policy making for the conservation of electricity. The household awareness is also identified by probing in the consumer behaviour. The respondents are the Delji housheolds. Through stratified random sampling, 395 households were selected for collection of data. Likert scale is used to find out the trend in consumer behaviour, awareness and habits of the households. It is found that households need to take conservation steps in order to make judicious use of the electricity. Awareness and Concern Towards the Environment: An Explorative Study of Indian Consumers
This paper explores the awareness and concern for environmental protection among consumers in India. Data was collected from 374 respondents using questionnaire survey covering issues on product usage and disposal. It is evident from this study that Indians are aware and concerned about the environmental conditions but the commitment level to take proactive individual actions is moderate.

Electricity load has tendency to increase over the time. Therefore, efforts to maintain a balance between electricity supply and demand such as increasing energy saving related to the use of home electricity appliances are urgently needed. In general, one of the household appliances which consumes relatively high electricity energy is refrigerator. The purpose of this study is to analyze residential consumers perceptions and their behaviours about electricity energy saving in relation to the usage of household appliances in Makassar, Indonesia particularly for refrigerator. Moreover, typical relationship between perceptions and consumers behaviours is also analyzed by composed two regression models, namely model for usage behaviour (UREFm model) and model for habitual behaviour (HREFm model) by using general perception, specific perception, and external factors as explanation variables. To collect data, a questionnaire was designed for survey which involved 40 respondents as a preliminary study and then statistical tests including regression analysis were applied to analyze usable data. The target of respondent was an owner of a house in Makassar with installed power capacity at least 900 VA. Reliability test shown that all items in the developed questionnaire can be used for main survey as obtained Cronbach's alpha values were above 0.6. Evaluation for consumers perceptions on energy saving in relation to demographic aspect using mean and Standard Deviation values indicated some significant differences. Other results regarding regression analysis shown that both composed models were well validated and had quite good fitness degree with adjusted R-squared values around 49.31% for UREFm model and 80.90% for HREFm model. Among considered variables, specific perception, and external factors were found have significant influence to the usage and habitual behaviours of consumers as confirmed by their p-values in each model below 0.05. Findings of this research can be used as a reference in developing programs for residential consumers such as electricity energy conservation program.

Amid increasing global awareness of the urgency of climate change and limited energy resources, designing strategies to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions are crucial, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. With its growing per capita energy use and significant carbon emission burden, Indonesia faces a dual challenge: meeting its growing energy needs while minimizing environmental impacts. This study integrates Knowledge of Energy-Saving Labels (KEL) into the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to explore the purchasing behavior of Energy-Efficient Home Appliances (EHAs) on Java Island, which is the region with the highest domestic energy consumption in Indonesia. Data from 239 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach through Smart-PLS version 4 software. The findings show that consumer attitudes (CA), perceived behavioral control (PBC), and subjective norms (SN) significantly influence the intention to purchase EHAs. Likewise, KEL significantly influences CA, PBC, and SN. This research not only confirms the applicability of the TPB in analyzing the behavior of Indonesian consumers towards EHAs but also provides practical insights for policymakers and industry to formulate more effective strategies to increase awareness and adoption of energy-efficient household products.
Residential Consumers Awareness of Energy Conservation Practices in Saudi Arabia

Energy efficiency and conservation are significant policy tools that can be introduced by governments to reduce electricity demand. The kingdom of Saudi Arabia possesses a wealth of energy resources. The exploitation of these resources has allowed the country to keep domestic energy prices low, through a system of direct and indirect subsides. Saudi Arabia boasts of having the world's largest proven oil reserves and being among the world's largest producer and consumer of electricity. However, Saudi Arabia is facing unrestrained domestic fuel consumption, which has increased by more than 30% since 2000. This increased and inefficient consumption is causing environmental pollution and costing the country's budget in subsidizing electricity price that may add pressure on government. This study aims to measure the residential sector knowledge and awareness about energy conservation, which is the biggest sector in power consumption. The study uses questionnaire surveys containing quantitative and qualitative questions focused mainly on consumers' awareness in billing, efficient appliances and lighting systems. Results suggest that Saudi consumer behaviors in energy consumption are influenced by social, cultural, educational and economic factors.
Determinants of Consumer Intentions to Purchase Energy-Saving Household Products in Pakistan

The looming threat of climate change has become an undeniable harsh reality. Inefficient energy consumption is one of the major causes of this threat. Protecting the aquatic and terrestrial environment by reducing carbon footprints is a shared responsibility. In this pursuit, the contribution of household sector is extremely valuable and use of energy-saving products can be helpful to epitomize the goal of achieving sustainability. This study aims to investigate the determinants of consumers' intention to purchase energy-saving household products by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Technology Readiness Index (TRI) 2.0's four indicators (optimism, innovativeness, discomfort and insecurity). This study applied a hypo deductive research approach. Using cross sectional data, a total 396 valid questionnaires were collected to validate the proposed hypothesis by using Partial Least Square (PLS) path modeling approach (a variance based SEM technique). Results showed that contributors of technology readiness positively influence residents' attitude towards their buying intention, while inhibitors of technology readiness negatively affect this relationship. Further, attitude and perceived behavioral control were found to be significant determinants of intention to purchase energy-saving household products. Based on the above research findings, implications for marketers and policy makers are discussed, moreover future research directions are suggested.

Scholars have been interested in energy efficiency/conservation and consumer behaviour for over 35 years and research in this domain continues to grow. Energy efficiency and conservation are significant policy tools that can be introduced by governments to help save the environment. The kingdom of Saudi Arabia possesses a wealth of energy resources. Saudi Arabia boasts the world's largest proven oil reserves and is the world's 200th largest producer and consumer of electricity. As we have witnessed a trend in the recent past years, the consumer is becoming more aware and serious to consume eco–friendly products. The success story of LED Bulb product shows a clear-cut evidence for this. Not only this product but many more technologies are being developed by the companies to maintain its customers. One thing is more important here to mention that the companies is not doing it willingly but it have been forced due to increasing awareness among consumers for Eco–Friendly / Sustainable products which creates a new segment of business. Due to growing importance of eco–friendly products it becomes crucial to study the perception of consumer with respect to sustainable products. It is a comparative study based on primary data which have been collected through structured questionnaire circulated among the respondents of two districts of eastern U.P. i.e. Varanasi and Allahabad. Both the districts and respondents have been selected purposively. The present study analyzes the effect of gender, age, income, education and locality on consumer perception towards using sustainable products.
Domestic Electricity consumption and the public awareness factor
Access to energy and in particular electricity is viewed as a fundamental right of every household. The accessible source of electricity gets distributed to different electrical loads within the household without people being aware of the individual consumption per load, due to the fact that the overall cost is reported as a single number in the electricity bill.
