The Cluster's Competitiveness Analysis
In the last two decades the growth of national economies competitiveness was mainly based on regional development and growth of regional clusters competitiveness. The development of a new "integrative competitiveness management for clusters" and of the basic structural-functional models in this transdisciplinar area is a priority in Romania and European Union. The purpose of the paper is to contribute at the development of systemic model and method of competitiveness analysis, useful for the radical / continuous improvement and optimisations of the companies and clusters performances. The managerial analysis of cluster's competitiveness (A KC) is a new, original, complex, dynamic quantitative analysis method and a stage of the integrative cluster's competitiveness management. The implementation of the cluster's competitiveness analysis and of integrative management for clusters will assure the competitiveness increase at micro, mezo and macro levels.
Evaluation of Cluster Competitiveness: Review, Framework and the Methodology EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Regional industry clusters have attracted the attention of international development agencies, national and local governments and corporations, as a means for of achieving competitiveness. In the literature, a considerable effort has gone into investigating linkages and the role of clusters in boosting economic success of regions or their member firms. Yet, unlike national, industry and firm levels, a holistic attempt to evaluate competitiveness at the level of clusters has remained inadequate. This paper, through a thorough review of extant literature, pulls together diverse insights on clusters and competitiveness to devise a framework and a methodology that can be utilized for evaluation and comparison of competitiveness across industry clusters.
Clusters Models, Factors and Characteristics
2011
The industrial cluster concept has become a subject of intense research studies and economic analysis starting with the study conducted by Michael E. Porter regarding the competitive advantage of nations. This concept is an economic phenomenon that is placed in a competitive context in which many businesses simultaneously compete and collaborate to gain different economic advantages. The economic advantages of successful real economic clusters has proves an important reason for the increased attention that this economic model has received from the scientific community and the governmental structures. Despite the advances in cluster research, its model remains a complex one and something that it's hard to reproduce in a real economic environment. The paper highlights typologies of clusters, models of determinant factors and its characteristics by doing a survey of the cluster literature. The research is conducted starting with the analysis of the cluster concept, based on different accepted descriptions. From this point there are summarized the main characteristics and are described models of cluster determinants. The objective of the paper is to highlight the importance and advantages of clusters but also the complexity of the cluster model mainly because of its complex determinant factors.

The role of cluster cycle and pattern of interaction to competition strategy
Problems and Perspectives in Management, 2016
Many studies show that industrial clusters have been successfully promoting the progress of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Therefore, many governments around the world, including Indonesia, enthusiastically perform comparative studies of cluster policy. Thus, it is important to understand the characteristics of the business of small and medium industries as input in formulating the policy of industrial clusters. Research objectives are focused on the early stages of analysis as to whether the cluster of wood and rattan furniture industry which has existed long enough in Jepara, Central Java, Indonesia, has formed a pattern of awareness among employers in considering the benefits proportionally between cooperation and competition. In various scientific literature reviews, this issue was named by the term coopetition. Thus, the benefits of this research are useful in formulating policy toward strengthening the industrial cluster furniture and rattan towards a more integrative of...
The objective of the paper is to develop an analytical framework for the process of resources and capabilities development in the creation of sustainable competitive advantages by firms belonging to industrial clusters. Towards the aim, concepts and approaches from different areas and theoretical currents were reviewed and adapted in view of their integration in a unifying framework. The proposed framework basically combines the resource-based view to strategy and related concepts with the market-based view, in a process that exploits their complementarities and surmounts their respective inherent limitations. It takes explicitly into account, besides cluster-specific factors, which is the focus of the paper, also factors that are country-and industry-specific, the emphasis being, however, on the strategic resources generated by the cluster and their potential role in enhancing firms' internal value creation processes. In spite of the focus on cluster-specific factors, the analytical framework developed can be useful for research that focus different aspects and factors that affect firms' resources and capabilities in creating and sustaining competitive advantages, and at different levels of analysis. Moreover, its "general" conception allows for easily incorporating new elements of analysis, some of which are indicated as directions for future research.
Clusters Influence on Competitiveness. Evidences from European Union Countries
2016
Lately, The European Union has established a series of regulations supporting the evolution of clusters as a pillar in the development of the regional economy in order to increase companies and nations competitiveness. Also, Rrecent developments show that rapid diffusion of information in the present innovative environment could drive longer-term growth. With a particular role in creating relations between the public and private sectors, clusters have become a capable tool of increasing firms productivity. The purpose of this paper is to identify the presence or absence of a correlation between the development level of clusters within the European Union states and the competitiveness level of these states, measured by the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI). The study’s object are the countries of Central and Eastern Europe because we noticed that their level of innovation and productivity is significantly behind the countries located in Western Europe.

Clusters in the function of innovative activities and competitiveness of enterprises
Industrija, 2015
Development and diffusion of innovations in order to achieve competitive advantage of enterprises is one of the key reasons of forming clusters in the contemporary business. The paper emphasizes the importance of clusters for strengthening innovativeness of enterprises, as well as the significance of clusters for the economic development of the regions/countries in which they exist. The paper will attach special significance to the importance of clusters for strengthening innovativeness and competitiveness of the Serbian economy. The Serbian Automotive Cluster will be discussed in detail. Clusters enable Serbian enterprises to remove constraining factors of their growth through cooperation. The presented data in the paper show that the enterprises increased their innovative activities when they joined the cluster, which also affected the increase of the enterprises' income after launching new and modified products.
Technological capability dynamics through cluster organizations
Purpose -The purpose of the paper is to portrait how members of cluster organizations (COs) perceive the role of COs in enabling them to accumulate technological capability (TC) significant for their innovation. Design/methodology/approach -The authors report the findings from their qualitative study based on an analysis of four COs. The organizational inertia and absorptive capacity theories are the theoretical underpinning of the research. Findings -The study shows that the dynamics of TC of the cluster companies included in the study sample relates to their initial level of TC and cluster cooperation. The companies with relatively low initial TC increase it through COs if the clusters offer comparatively high benefits. On the other hand, those COs' members that present relatively high initial TC advance it, provided that the external knowledge and other benefits they can absorb in their clusters are suited to their technological trajectories.
